I have this, it's quiet and nice that the window can be down, but lets bugs in and has a tendency to get water in it and musty. It's nearly impossible to clean.

Are you saying the u-shaped design does those things worse than a regular window AC or is this your first experience with window ACs?

I called Costco fountain valley, garden grove , Irvine , California. All said they don't have it in store. Online and ship home is $360. Where'd you get this deal ?

If you're feeling lucky, Amazon has "Amazon Renewed" ones for $259.53. It's not manufacture refurbished so buyer beware, at least the returns are easy. Warranty is 90 days.

Does it worse. Prior window units are easier to disassemble and clean, and for whatever reason this one allows bugs in really bad.

I have 4 midea u shaped and 2 Danby u shaped(rebadged midea). I agree, cleaning the indoor horizontal fan is difficult. You have to remove the plastics and the small metal grill. I spray with hydrogen peroxide and dishwashing detergent from a hand pump sprayer. A toothbrush is handy for the dust that sticks to the corner of the blades. Spray bottom also works, but requires way more exercise.

I have it since last year, no bugs, no water got inside. Even with heavy rain.

Had one of these. It vibrated the wall at such a loud bass frequency that I thought a helicopter was above my house, turns out it was the inverter. If you have vinyl windows and vinyl siding this happens a lot, and the home depot I got it from told me they've had multiple returns on it because of the vibration, it also took an obnoxious amount of time to set up and my attempt to contact midea to ask about the vibration was miserable.

Would love to know if someone finds these at this price in Southern California. I see Dylan checked a bunch of stores and I've certainly noticed there are none in store.
