You get what you pay for! This is not a T series!
Are you implying its better or worse? P and T are basically the same line. A P14S is a T14.

I know some people prefer the less power hungry screens but I like them bright, sharp, and fast and this one is none of those. I would love a Thinkpad with a 1000 nit screen.
400 nits brightness is perfectly fine for most people. Indoors mostly remain at 200 nits.

Sad, I am curious why it needs that much time to release while ASUS already has quite a few configurations on the market.
I think it's supply problem from AMD side. For example 7840U laptops were available 8 months after the announcement. Similarly Ryzen 8840 laptops were available for sale 4-5 months after announcing the launch.

Wish they would allow option for touch screen. Build option with touch screen would be closer to $1100 for the same specs. Wonder if I can chat with reps?

Could someone comment on how the battery life is with this cpu? And is it powerful enough to last 5 years or so? Haven't used a windows laptop in years

It has integrated graphics, so not really. If you want something that has gaming potentially you really want discrete graphics. Lenovo legion is their gaming line. For $1,000 you might be able to get a 4060 in Lenovo brand stuff. If you look for a deal.

I am buying a laptop for my son's college. Can someone tell me compare to the Costco Lenovo Ideapad Slim 7i deal, which one is better? They are both $850. Slim 7i has OLED screen. But seem the Processor of this one is better. Which one is more portable and has a better battery life? Thanks!

I swear the amount of misinformation spread on these forums by people like you can be so frustrating. I actually own this laptop. You can absolutely game on this laptop even though gaming isn't its intended purpose. I can comfortably play AAA titles with ease at lower settings. Will it reach frame rates similar to laptops with dedicated gpus? No. It wasn't designed to to this. But to come out and blatantly say to a prospective buyer that you can't game on this laptop is irresponsible and misleading. Do better.
