Capital One has 14% cash back right now which made it much easier to pull the trigger. Here's hoping the refurbs are actually decent!

accessories4less has the refurbished X3800H regularly for $1,100. They're Denon authorized seller. Recall might actually even do refurbishing repair themselves? That or they get direct units from Denon with full mfg warranty.

I bought a refurb earlier this year from A4L. They actually sent me a brand new one instead.

BTW. Anyone looking into Dirac should take a look at OCA A1 Evo script. Does the same thing better but free.

As far as the RZ50 yes Dirac Live is rolled into the price but it doesn't get the option for the other half of Dirac(DLBC).
Unlike the 3800, which does.

The 3800 also gives you 4 independent sub outs compared to two parallel/mono ones.
All the channels are assignable on the 3800 and each channel can be turn off/disengaged individually while using pre outs.

You would have to jump up to the RZ70 get all those options with Onkyo and only two sub outs.
Keep in mind the RZ70 only lets you turn off/disengage L/R fronts OR all channels.

Yes it would cost you $350 to have the exact same Dirac Live the RZ50 includes but that also includes all the other features the RZ70 offers(and more).
Not sure about the Yamahas, but the X3800 and above will also be upgradable to DIRAC ART when it is released. No idea what the additional cost will be though.

Signs are pointing to the 3800 getting ART (Active Room Treatment) in Fall of 2025. Going by how much Dirac charges StormAudio, ART will probably cost an additional $299 after DL and DLBC licenses have already been acquired. There will most likely be a bundle deal as w/all things Dirac...

A little clarification.

To use A1EVO isn't completely free, you have to purchase Audyssey's Editor App for $20.

The Editor App is required so it works for any receiver that gets the option(not all do).

Yes it can give you Dirac like results, pretty impressive!

Yes there are still beta testing it and just got pushed back to 2025.

Price is all speculation at this point not sure it matters TBH.

Just look in here, good luck finding anyone who believes DLBC is a benefit!

Heck people than can don't even get it!

Everyone has their justification on why, even in those "audiophile" sites many just calibrate and say DLBC isn't needed.

$500 for DLBC + what ever for ART!!!
People in here cry now about the cost!
If you're an Onkyo/Pioneer/Integra fan you'll have to buy whole new model on top of that and they start at $2800!

Even in those threads no one talks about DLBC option as a benefit!

Plenty of people talk about DLBC in AVS and ASR. Why you expect so much Dirac discussion in a deals forum is beyond me!

Yes they do, as I mentioned, often it's the justification why DLBC isn't a benefit/needed.

Let's see in this "deals" site, why are Onkyo/Pioneer/Integra AVRs considered a "deal" hmmm ……. Oh yes Dirac!!!
What's often the main discussion in those threads….hmmmmm oh yes Dirac.

What is this very discussion about …. ART …hmmmm 🤔

Why do you think there isn't "so much" discussion about Dirac?

Not sure if refurbish X1800 here is better for$ 411 vs new in costco X1700 for $399, can not really find any difference, can someone with experience throw some light..

Here is the comparison again.
Very unlikely you will hear a difference.

$300 for the S760H seems pretty sick, no?

Ok, I'll call your bluff. Show me all the posts from multiple SlickDeal members that give critical feedback on DLBC (parroting "benefits" from the Dirac website doesn't count)!

I'll be here all day!
Just search Onkyo,Pioneer,Integra receivers in here and you'll see how many give "critical feedback" about DLBC!

Better yet how about you give us your "critical feedback" on why you don't get DLBC on your 3800?
BTW Dirac offers DLBC for a single subwoofer, if you don't know! 😜

I purchased the AVR-X1700H - REFURBISHED 2 months ago. Been having issues with the HDMI input. For the first 5-10 minutes when the device is turned on it keeps losing the HDMI signal (screen turns black for a second) and then immediately pops back again. This can happen up to 6-10 times until it finally stops. Very frustrating, not sure I would recommend them. And I am using a brand new 8K HDMI cable in both the Roku input as well as the input to the TV from the receiver. Never had this issue with the Onkyo I replaced this with.
