Waiting for the discounted ebay reload to come back instead, but shopping out alternatives until that happens. Been with Redpocket for years but service is getting worse and price keeps creeping up. If I can stack with an ebay discount, maybe I'll hang around but other services have innovated and gotten cheaper.

EDIT: I see this is for new sign-ups only, probably an even bigger indicator that they are only going to do intro-pricing deals now and discontinue the ebay renewals that kept them competitive. If you are considering Redpocket as a new customer, keep in mind that it looks like they are trying to lure people in with the discount and hope you don't want to go through the hassle of porting out in a year when your only option is their regular pricing. As a current and long-time customer, I advise you look elsewhere. The annual renewals on ebay were the only reason to stay. If those are gone forever, stay away forever.

I strongly suggest you avoid this poorly run company. Customer support is amongst the worst in the industry! I didn't listen to other slickdealers, thinking it can't possibly be as bad as they say. Boy was I wrong!

I had such terrible service on my iPhone with their AT&T service. Incoming calls going directly to voicemail, and at times no data. Even their highest level support did not come up with a solution. They kept insisting it was my phone, yet I had the same exact issue with my back up phone. I asked if I could switch to Verizon CDMA network, and several times was told no because I purchased the annual plan. Finally I got somebody to agree and send me out a new Sim card, but I never received it. Trying to get a replacement was a nightmare and finally reached out to the BBB. It took almost 3 months to resolve the issue. I did get better service with their CDMA network.

I have a few more months left with this horrible company, and then I'll switch to US Mobile or whatever the best deal is at the time.

You're better off if you jumped. The annual plan from their site is stacked with taxes and fees, making it much higher than the ebay code in many states. Forcing people back to their site's annual plan instead of the code off ebay is just one more cut in their death by a thousand cuts model.

No issues from me as a customer for many years now. Every customer service request from me has been answered and resolved perfectly.

Anyone know of any hope for their ebay plans?

Doesnt seem like this deal can apply if you already have a line with RP. Shows normal price for me. I assume this is for new lines only.

Is it difficult to port out from US Mobile later ? Any experience?

I have being used RP GSMA for years. Staring last year it shows laggy and slow downloading for many places I stayed. Thinking of switch to US Mobile, too.

Their web sales are always for new lines, look for deals on their ebay store (fewer pop up deals but still BF/holiday deals)

Taxes and fees are actually net lower on the higher tier web plans vs eBay sales tax*. It's because RP has a flat ($12?) recovery fee, so not a value for lower-priced plans. Worth it for the 20/25/now 30GB plans, if you don't mind a new number. Works for me as it's a secondary line in my case.
* Of course, if you're renewing there's no sales tax when you ship to your beach house. iykyk

RP ebay has scaled back on deals over the past few years (there's occasional flash sales but still rare). Just have to wait for BF/holiday deals. If your plan expiration doesn't align with the fall/winter timeframe, it might be worth it to go monthly as a bridge to the deal season, e.g., if your plan expires in Aug, go monthly until Oct-ish, then purchase an annual eBay plan as a renewal. Just a thought.

You do a chat with US Mobile to get Account and PIN (which is valid for 7 days) to port out a number. It takes 10-20 minutes for a rep to go through the work of getting it for you, but not hard, per se.
Hope this helps.

Please go to their site to read about which plan you need to verify hotspot use and how much hotspot data allowed per month. It varies.

No, thanks. I like RP because no matter whichever plan you choose all data is available for hotspot. Same with Mint - except for their egregiously misnomered UNLIMITED plan.
