Deal Details
UPDATE (8/28) - Last day for this deal. The phones listed below still works for trading.

UPDATE (8/25) - No new updates for trade ins. For those picking up their online orders, don't ask what your values are. Just take it and check your online invoice right after taking the phone. If it shows things are zero'd out, you're good and your refund will show up in a few days tops.

UPDATE (8/23) - Thanks to user SmartMice845 for pics of the latest trade in values (basically everything is devalued except the Samsung 23/24 Ultra and iPhone 14 Pro/Max. https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=172512819&postcount=2545

UPDATE (8/22) - From more reporting, it would seem the entire iPhone 13 lineup is devalued (base, pro, pro max). Thus for anyone who still wants in on this deal, only the 14 series and Samsung equivalents are good. Obviously those who already purchased have locked in the rates. Those who ordered online from the start of the promotion for instore pickup seem to be getting the full value without any additional tax.

UPDATE (8/21) - More than one person are reporting devaluation of the iPhone 13 > PXL 9 trade in so careful tonight if you're still planning on doing that. The iPhone 13 Pro Max > PXL 9 Pro XL is still alive.
Devices that were pre-ordered ship to home earlier are being shipped. I actually have a Pixel 9 delivered just now [imgur.com] from an instore pre-order on 8/16!

UPDATE (8/20) - It appears Best Buy have no intentions of fulfilling the "SteveIrwin" iPhone 12 $654 coupon for those who had it zero'd out on the eve of the 18th. Which is crazy they named it that since he's a famous Zoologist who died, so naming it that to say the coupon is dead is crazy. Anyways, if you still have it, I would try to get your trade in back. My store's manager kept my iPhone 12 in a separate location because he saw issues with the coupon. Returned it to me and cancelled the trade in today.

UPDATE (8/19) - looks like quite a few people are reporting their online orders getting cancelled, especially those with multiple orders or trading in an iPhone 12. No one who reported successfully trading in instore has reported cancellations yet. If you have an online order that isn't with an iPhone 12 trade in, perhaps trying going instore to "lock in" your trade and cancel the online one.

UPDATE (8/18) - they have fully devalued the iPhone 12 series. Those who attempted to trade in 8/18 at night were met with a coupon that doesn't work after they traded in their iPhone 12. Will see how Best Buy resolve a traded in phone but the coupon doesn't work. Other models listed below should still have elevated values instore. The updated terms online some people have posted is not the same terms that are present for instore documentation. Best Buy reps have an updated PDF every day and as of last night, still include everything EXCEPT the iPhone 12.

This is a previously posted deal, but trade in values online have been reduced. Higher trade in values still work in-store. Worked for me both yesterday and today.

Steps:

- Have one of the following trade ins. Carrier locked phones are fine as long as they aren't blacklisted. YMMV on exact carrier models and colors matching but I and many others have had no issues trading in a locked Straight Talk iPhone 12 and told them Verizon or Metro and T-Mobile (remove your SIM card when trading in):
Pixel 9:
Galaxy S23 Ultra ($799)
Galaxy S24 Ultra ($799)
Galaxy S24+ ($799)

Pixel 9 Pro:
Galaxy S24 Ultra ($999)
iPhone 14 Pro ($999)
iPhone 14 Pro Max ($999)

Pixel 9 Pro XL:
Galaxy S23 Ultra ($1,099)
Galaxy S24 Ultra ($1,099)
iPhone 14 Pro ($1,099)
iPhone 14 Pro Max ($1,099)
- Take your trade in to the store and ask them you want to pre-order the Pixel with said phone (don't ask for trade in value yet)
- They will ask for your phone's model and capacity and will check the IMEI that's physically on the phone (on the back of Samsung's and on the SIM tray of iPhones with SIM card slots)
- Let them proceed and they'll eventually get to this screen here: https://imgur.com/a/3tKD8kv
- Do not let them skip that screen. They will need to input a coupon code in order for this to work (they have a booklet for the code) -> Others have mentioned the code is just "GOOGLE"
- They'll print out the info, gift card for trade in value and coupon is deducted directly
- After you confirm the promo trade in value, proceed to sign away and give them your phone
- For some states like mine (WA), taxes is paid only on the after coupon price
https://imgur.com/a/naartVF

Additional info:
Phones listed should only have the value for their respective tiers. An iPhone 13 for instance will not have $799 value when trying to get a Pixel 9 Pro or Pro XL.
The $100/$200 gift cards come AFTER you make the purchase so you cannot use it to pay off the taxes. Gift cards are stackable though so if you do more than one trade in, you can use the $100/$200 gift card to pay for taxes on the second or third trade in.
You can use the previous threads to find data points from what others have mentioned are trade in values for different phones. I only listed the ones that corresponds with the models to make them free. Online trade in values are decreased so it's not a good data point for how much your phone would actually cost.

I went today to the store (NYC) rep asked me to factory reset the phones (I need to remember ur password and log in to WiFi in the store for Samsung)
One quick tip on this for others doing it … saves a little time at the store if you reset the phone before leaving your house. Just sign out of iCloud first while still connected to Wi-Fi and then do a factory reset (erase all content and settings) …that way, it will come up unattached to any iCloud account. The reps then often just click the little "i" on the setup screen to get the IMEI and never even go any further.

My iphone 12 trade-in didn't work out. The person at Pickup counter seemed new and just shrugged that the color is not the same as I selected while placing the preorder (I selected black but tried trading in a blue one). I asked if he can check with the manager.
The manager (or his supervisor) agreed with him and said my trade in won't go through. Such a bummer. I asked them to hold the order as I'll check with customer support or try to get another one from ebay before 28th.
Seems like bad luck after reading about other experiences on this thread.

Agree, I click it for them "before" handing them the phone so the IMEI screen is showing along with my drivers license (Some employees do not know to click the i on the set up screen)

Both of my orders that were placed minutes after phone listings up on 13th, are still not available for pickup. Bestbuy says they are waiting on vendor to get the phones but seems BS to me.

This is in Seattle area.

Did you have the right color? Last time with P8P trade in, I didn't have the right color as stated so the rep went ahead and redo the trade in for me. But the promo was still active so I was fine

It looks kind of weird due to the way they do it. Once you're in-store and do the trade, it will essentially adjust the price down to $145 and then show the $145 credit from your trade. The promo credit doesn't show up anymore, but it's already taken into account. That has caused some confusion for several people at pickup, especially when the reps don't understand it. However, before trading it in, you definitely want to make sure that the entire trade and promo credit show up right … as long as it's good there, then it should be good after completing the trade and the online receipt updates accordingly soon after.
Okay I'll give it a few days then cause currently my online receipt on Best Buy only shows the $145 credit for the trade so my order total shows $735.90.

If it doesn't reflect after a week I'm going to just return the Pixel 9 since it says it takes up to 7 days for the refund to reflect. My credit card statement currently has the full value on Pending as well.

Oh, that doesn't sound great. My BB online receipt shows a $0 "order total" when viewing the summary after trading in. The credit charges may take a while to adjust, but the BB receipt updated very quickly for most of us.

Here's what it looks like (screenshot attached) …

Order Summary
Product Total: $145.00
Sales Tax, Fees & Surcharges: $0.00
Taxes have been updated
Trade-In Device. -$145.00
Order Total. $0.00
Credit. -$0.00
Order Summary Notes
Trade-in Promotion applied to product total.
Once your trade-in is complete, it may take up to 7 days for your refund to be reflected on your payment method.

I don't know if it's true, but someone said earlier that they were having system issues for a while.

https://slickdeals.net/f/17698470-pixel-9-series-for-free-with-trade-in-best-buy-in-store-only?v=1&p=172496037&src=SiteSearch#post172496037

Also, there was another similar report in one of these threads where someone said the employee couldn't process their pickup but only cancel or do nothing (or something like that). If that's the case, maybe that's what your rep ran into and couldnt figure out how to get out of it.

You may want to work through the online support reps to see if they can reinstate your order … they may be more help than in-store if you had a correct order, but there was some kind of error on their end. Then of course, maybe try a corporate or in-store complaint, but I'd start with those guys, as they might possibly be able to help, given your particular circumstances.

I don't know. My coupon actually printed out as $200, which they said is what's now correct.

can you please elaborate ? what stickers did they switch ? i will ask them to follow the same.
Attached is a screenshot of what the stickers look like. It's basically just a label with your name and order info on it and the IMEI of the phone assigned to your order. However, if an employee messed up by putting the wrong sticker on your box, it may create a problem completing the order when they scan it into the system since the IMEI is linked to your specific order. To confirm if a box has the right sticker on it, look at the "hardware ID" on the sticker and compare it to the IMEI printed on the bottom of the actual Pixel box. Those two numbers should match … if not, they may have put the wrong order sticker on it.

(Note: Scanning a phone's IMEI into the system at the time of purchase is a normal routine. But in this case, it looks like they've already linked each customer to a specific IMEI ahead of time and it's expected to match when scanned at pickup.)
