I have owned this unit for about 10 years. Is it perfect ... no. Is it useful ... very much so. I use this to clean car interiors as I have no carpets in my house.

This is a spot cleaner intended for use on carpeting and upholstery. It is especially useful to clean car interiors. Not sure why anyone would use this to clean hard floors of any type as the head is only about 3 inches wide. It would take a loooong time ...

Hard floor cleaner? Try a Tineco or other similar brands.

We use these to spot clean our cars and sofa, etc. Works wonders. Like with all steam or fluid based cleaners, vacuum debris, hair first time avoid clogging.

We also own a wet/dry shop vac for deeper cleaning in cars.

Is this thing enough to clean total car interior? Not spots only but all car cloths/carpet? Have never had anything like that or special wet vac to clean car interior or house carpet. However once we hired a guy with prof vac mounted inside a track to clean carpet in the apartment we rent and I didn't like the results he had done with powerful mobile vac so badly that I'm still afraid to buy something like this OP posted for personal use if pro equipment was almost useless to clean carpet.

Ordered one and cancelled the Stanley shop vac I had ordered as I think this will be a better buy for the purpose I need it for i.e. for cleaning any pet stains

Had this unit for probably 5 years or so. Clean up cat vomit weekly on carpet due to multiple cats having IBS. Does take a good bit of work for it to be effective, but works well. Biggest criticism is the unit i have (I think maybe an older model) you can't get into the clear vacuum nozzle head to fully clean out gunk after use. Ive looked up several vids stating you can open the head without breaking it, but my unit doesn't have the clips/tabs in all the videos. Wondering if I should buy a new unit and see if it comes with this other vacuum nozzle I can fully clean.
But the scrub/vacuum head is perfect for cat waste. Infinitely better than a bottle of resolve and paper towels.
I've also used it on carpet for grease stains from a treadmill. Worked ok on that. Took lots of elbow grease, but mostly worked.
Overall very happy with the unit. Usually see it for $80 or so without the $10 bottle of cleaner.

Can I use this on a big arse area rug or might as well buy something bigger? My puppy ha shad many accidents on a rug, and I've treated with urine sprays, but wondering if this will work better.

Something like this is great for spot cleaning ESPECIALLY if you have pets or kids. It helps reduce the chance of a stain setting because you can get it cleaned up and sucked out quickly.

If you have upholstery in your car, you will be shocked at the stuff that comes out. use a mild cleaner and hot water and even a cheap thing like this will pull a lot out.

I haven't had this exact model but something similar for 10+ years and its a lifesaver.

Have you tried Royal Canin Hairball cat food? It worked great for our cats
