Hate it when companies require their proprietery hub for certain features despite being Zigbee compatible. If I already have Zigbee hub at my home, its annoying to have to buy another hub to unlock few features.

I use this with no hun with Apple home kit. I had to download their app to set it up but after that I only use homekit

Yeah, I think if you are in the Apple ecosystem this may work well; or if you don't mind adding a Zigbee hub to your setup. For me neither applies; and the whole reason one would go with Z-wave or Zigbee is so they don't need to have so many hubs and apps - I am looking to integrate everything into a same hub and use HomeAssistant to monitor/automate them.
