Mine broke last weekend and need to replace. I much prefer these type of pedals on my climbing bike. I find this type of pedal is superior when standing. I love getting up really early and doing a mile of climbing before my family even wakes.

BTW, my pedals were over 10 years old.

Are these good for stationary bikes like an echelon connect sport?

Funny you ask. I have that exercise bike and these Wahoo speedplays. If not mistaken, the threads on the Eschelon are for standard bike pedals. They should fit.

Thinking of getting another pair just for the cleats. The cleats are probably the weakest points on the Wahoo setup.

FYI, if you really need speedplay style pedal, you could find some brand new cheap "replica" with titanium spindle, weigh 1/3 less than these, for half the price.

I think they're only available on ebay now shipping from China, speedplay went after the US based company

However, this deal looks dead now.

Don't know about that specific stationary bike but generally speaking, most people use the same pedal type on their indoor trainers that they use on their regular bike. If you can put regular SPD pedals on your stationary bike, Speedplay or Look will fit too.

It is mostly a matter of practice, IMHO.

The more you use one system, the more natural it starts feeling. Sure, it is also a matter of personal preference and/or bias too, something might "click" with you and you will swear it is the best for X and Y reasons, and the next person will claim the same reasons as an excuse to reject your favorite for a different cleat system.

The only thing that I believe nearly everyone agrees with, is that the 2-hole systems - now marketed more for off-road use (XC/Gravel etc) have the cleat typically recessed in the sole, thus making the shoes far easier to walk it when not riding the bike, while the 3-hole systems - preferred for road bikes, feature a much larger and protruding out of the sole cleat that is definitely weird to walk on.
