Deal HistoryÂ
Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
I agree. The deal is the promo code[amazon.com], applicable to a bazillion other items. Just post the deal as such. This particular items isn't "on sale 2 for $50.74" as the OP has stated. This isn't a sale price. In fact, the price has been $24.70 (2 for $49.40) for much of the last few months. This item has been chosen simply for the fact that an integer multiple (2) brings the price just above the $50 threshold. The fact that the current price isn't the regular low price of $24.70 allows the discount to be maximized.
Kudos to babgaly for posting their deal for what it is.
Anywho, this is slickdeals. I like to see promo codes such as this applied to items that are actually on sale (unusually discounted), and I will post if I see any.

When I order 2, the credit doesn't appear, if I change to 3 it does. Be wary. (I think you need a filler to get over $50.)
Yeah that's probably right. This deal is hardly worth it. Even if you exclude the filler from the calculation (even though you still need it), the plates are 9.7 cents a piece. Sams club Members Mark plates (which are just as good in my opinion) are 9.3 cents a piece (when non on sale) and you don't need to try and remember to use this credit in 3-4 months and spend more money on the limited selection of products that are sold by Amazon.
The markup with Amazon is just too high. Even if you decided to get Dixie brand name plates they are19.99 for 186 plates at Sams club and Costco, it equates to 10.7 cents a piece, when not on sale, (which is a little more but less hassle). One time I'd like to see products from Amazon that aren't marked up so much that the 15 dollar credit is actually of value. For example, using Sams or Costco prices, 10.7 cents for the equivalent 344 Dixie Ultra plates is 36.81. So Amazon is $11.39 more expensive for 2 packs than the warehouse clubs. So the 15 dollar credit actually saves you 3.61 (without filler), with filler it's even less or none at all. And if you catch a sale on Paper plates at Sams or Costco, the price is often closer to 8.9 to 9.1 cents per plate, which makes this deal not valuable at all.

I get stocking up but for the average family a 100 pack would probably last a few months and you're not out $50 in the mean time.
Correction: Showing now. Did not at first.
