I'm using this with power blocks I recently bought from woot with the two expansion on it. It looks great and the trays have enough space to lay down the 2.5 pound handle inserts. At first I was worried this wouldn't handle the weight but after I placed them in it and pushed down as hard as I could on the weights I knew it wouldn't be a problem.

Just measured 17.5x9.5 inch and about 1 inch deep also comes with nice rubber mats that fit perfectly in the trays.

I don't understand this. A rack to hold weights off the floor for people who want to lift weights but the floor is too far away?? Seriously I don't get it?
Do you lift weights?

Heres how you do it.

Assemble this thing together but don't tighten anything. Now that you know you've made no mistakes while assembling it take apart parks and glue them with epoxy. Do This while the parts are noon clean. The amount of glue that will not be seen oozing out it's plenty.

Stands will become super strong single parts. They will probably never fall apart. if you move you'll have to move them as single pieces which is what you want a strong thing worth moving
The weak part isn't where the parts are nut and bolted together. The weak part is where the frame is welded at the bottom, where the two legs are welded to the middle connecting part. The angled legs put stress on those welds. That is where it will fail under heavy load or stress from dropping the dumbbells on the tray. The welds will fail, and epoxy will do nothing to strengthen those welds.

Also, with epoxy, you would have to scuff the glossy paint with sandpaper. If you epoxy two pieces of glossy painted metal, the epoxy won't bite into the part, and the epoxy will also fail.

You've created a false sense of security with the epoxy.

Only real way to strength this product would be get 2 pieces of angle iron (or some kind of plate stock), and weld it to the frame to create two "triangles" for the legs, instead of the two open 70% angles. To the front part where it leans over. So it doesn't collapse over on itself.

Example, look at this:

https://www.amazon.com/Yes4All-Ad...DFXQ6?th=1

See those little triangles of metal on the legs. You would need to weld two short pieces on the legs to make those triangles.

I was until recent rotator cuff surgery and I was a fitness instructor for years. There are so many fitness gadgets to separate people from their money. To me this is such a gadget. If you can't pick up the weights off the floor, then I wouldn't have clients using them. But hey, I'm also on slickdeals so I'm cheap. To each his own but for me, the 24 extra inches of lift is irrelevant and the bending to pick them up is productive motion. I don't drop weights either even with bumper plates.

I currently store my dumbbells on the floor near the wall. It is awkward to pick them up from so close to to the wall. My home gym is tiny.

Good form for picking up something heavy from the wall tells us we should squat down and lift with our legs. That's hard to do when the dumbbells are up against the wall.

You're right. They should throw all the dumbells in the gym on one big pile.

I can confirm that bow flex 1090's fit with no issue and you still have a tiny bit of wiggle room.

Thank you for this info. From the BowFlex website, the BowFlex SelectTech 552 base is 8.3" Wide by 16.9" Long, so it should fit in here. The 1090 base is exactly 9.5 x 17.5, so I'd want actual confirmation on whether this would fit perfectly or whether it would be a little tight. Hope this info helps! I'm in for one to try.
Fits 552 well

Lots of uninformed people that doesn't realize the importance of this.

The risk of hurting your back from constantly picking up dumbbells from the floor are high. There's a reason why the dumbbells are on the racks in the gym.

Mine did as well for a bit. I kept tightening the bolts until it isn't wobbling anymore.

I don't know about you but I have scoliosis and I'd rather have it on a rack than on the floor. Also a lot of people out there actually do not know how to lift so you're right. You can see that for yourself when you go to the gym.
