it's 1200p on 11" screen. That's better pixel per inch compared to a 1080p 24" monitor. Yes, the Ipad is better at 10.2" 2160x1620, but it is $200 on a sale compared to $131 but you only get 64GB of space vs 128GB of space on this deal. it's also 8GB of ram on the Samsung vs only 3GB on the ipad.

I got this a few weeks ago at this same price. Comparing to a Tab S7+ and S9, the screen obviously can't compare, neither does performance. However, compared to my older A7 and A7 Lite, those is perfectly serviceable. I'm very happy with it at this price point!

EDIT: I also have the 5G version with only 4GB of RAM. TBH, not much difference in my opinion. 8GB is still better because I disable the "RAM PLUS" option that uses storage for additional RAM (and that is slower for sure).

This is only partially true. ipads have good resale value. but most people who buy an Android tablet and get disappointed are the ones that buy a cheap Android tablet, and then switch to an ipad being forced to pay A LOT more money. An Android device with above average to high specs lasts much longer than an iOS device.

how does this compare to a Amazon fire tablet? Can you save shows on it and use it just on wifi?

$35.69 before tax (EDU discount gets reduced since it is a 15% discount, so it factors in trade value of $113 first; from $154.99 - $113 = $41.99 x 0.85)

iPad has to been in good working condition with no cracked screen. Generally can find them used for around $30-$40, bringing the total price of the tablet to around $70.

EDIT: Looks like it doesn't work this time around. I was still able to see it because I had one in my cart with the iPad Air (1st Generation) saved from previous deal about a month ago, and it saved the trade-in price the same.

It actually does work, but you have to add the item to cart and then use the Samsung Shop app in order to get the $113 trade-in for iPad Air (1st generation). Did this about 3 weeks ago when the same promotion was going on at the time, and upon rechecking, it still works.
Same for iPad Air 2?

It's not working anymore after trying again. I had it in my cart along with the trade-in locked in from previous deal, so it's allowing me to purchase for the same trade-in deal from about a month ago. Trying to duplicate the trade-in on the app again, but unable to do so.

Much faster and better in every way than the new fire tablet. I have both and you are very limited to the Amazon app store which has almost no usable apps like youtube, typical browsers, or the google play store. You can use the fire toolbox but the newer fire tablets are harder to debloat.

yes you can watch shows and use only wifi.

Great deal. My kid has been happy with her 10 year old 7" Fire tablet that makes me want to cry when using it.
She'll love this for Christmas, thanks!
I love Samsung tablets for kids. The kids mode is great!

I bought one for about 45 dollars, grade b o A if you ask me, it turned on, so I send it and they accept it with no issue. And the samsung I paid about 45 too, so everything was less than $100. If you are not able to see the trade in model do it on the website, it should work

That thing is 6+ years old. You would have to compare that to a $300 Android tablet back then.
Apples old planned Obsolescence. I have a Samsung S2 that still works well. Beautiful OLED screen

I bought this tablet a month or so ago for the same price. I'll concede that the display isn't the best but its more than functional. It also has an sd card slot - something iPads obviously dont have. this tablet mainly serves me when on road trips or flights and for 180 all in (140 + 40 sd card) its an amazing value for me.
same here. use it mainly for youtube and basic software. works like charm.
don't let the non IPS screen put you away. the screen is VERY usable and good quality.

Comparing RAMs between ipad and Android tablets is laughable. Or even iphone to android phones. Apple is way way more efficient in utilizing even half the RAM than any android products. I owned S7+, S8+, S6lite and a lot of times even the high end Samsung tabs with more than double or even triple the RAM can't even touch the performance of basic ipad. And in terms of phones, iPhone 14 pro max had 6GB RAM and even S21 Ultra had 16GB lol.

Exactly! I have similarly aged tablets that work just fine for web browsing and light tablet specific duties. It might not feel as snappy as a modern piece of hardware but it still works. I also at least have the option to install functioning versions of apps through official app stores or side loading apks.

With that old iPad though, if I didn't already have a functioning version of the app installed, I can no longer install ANY version of the app. It's even worse with my iPad 4 which can't even view certain websites because there's no way to upgrade any of its browsers at this point.

There's no defending Apple's longevity anymore; they purposely neuter their hardware through mandatory software and there's nothing you can do about it other than eventually cave in and buy a newer generation.

S2 was a flagship device for $500. It was the definition of planned obsolescence, came with Android 5.0 and stopped at 7.0.
