In California PG&E installed a Nest for free. I have low income.
You say they do not control it then you say if they control it. A little bit of a contradiction.
I think a WiFi chip went bad on me, about 2 years after it was installed. I already had a new thermostat that I had not used therefore I replaced the Nest with the other one.
I did not see how to override it during energy rushes. I did not try real hard but if it is possible to override then it is not obvious.

I see no problem with my statement. Perhaps what you meant to say is that they do not control it by default but we can let them control it. I read with precision, perhaps greater precision than you are accustomed to.
