Pretty nice deal. Ive generally heard good things about these and being able to dial great tones in pretty quickly. I'm still sort of holding out for a Quad Cortex but also have my eyes open for an HX Stomp just because its a nice workhorse for the price

These are cool. And built like a tank. But still $350 too high.

I had a Helix but didn't much care for it. Went back to the Tonex pedal with an FRFR. This comes down a little more and I might snag it.

I have the FR12 and its pretty sweet. Not that i can tell all the subtle differences with different amps as I'm not an amp guy but it all sounds good to my ears Smilie

I have tried the Neural DSP and this is the Future in my humble opinion FWIW

to me the real question is who is going to invest most in the infrastructure and future upgrades. Neural DSP made many of the archetypes compatible wih the QC and while expensive, that is a great option. Still, the QC has a long way to catch up and again the firmware 3 is a great start.

True. So far Line6 seems to have the best record of everyone. Maybe followed by Tonex. I have a Headrush MX5 and they are by far the worst Frown i dont plan on buying another Headrush product… that said the MX5 was a really great starter unit and the UI is quite intuitive.

Tonex has the worst UI/UX experience but they really busted the doors down with the Tonex One and bringing modeling to the masses, so to speak. I bought two Tonex Ones and really like them… lack of midi sucks but i sort of get it from a very myopic business standpoint

It's got a hiss you can hear when you're not playing something through it. Otherwise, it's good. I went with a Line6 Powercab 112+

Interesting- have not tried any modern Line 6. I have had an MX5 for gigging and despite all its limitations it has been OK, I record with Neural and PositiveGrid plugins for quality. I jam with PositiveGrid because the tone cloud let's me quickly get close to original tones, if I ever gig on my own material, I will probably get a Quad Core to replicate the recorded sounds live.

I think there were some very obvious hiss issues with the earlier released units and they have supposedly since corrected that. I don't really hear anything on my unit (unless I turn the volume up on the amp quite significantly; definitely more than I would ever play at home lol)

I have the HX One and it's a pretty cool unit but I've had my eyes set on an HX Stomp for a while (I still want the ability to chain multiple effects). Are you referring to the new Tonex One mini pedal? If so, I agree! I have two of them (one for drives and one for amps/cabs) and they are awesome.

Yea, they are pretty amazing units for the price point. The bigger Tonex has a lot more features/functionality onboard but is at least 2-3x the size of the Tone One. The only thing I really wish they added is basic midi functionality (literally just the ability to change presets based on PC codes - this is how the Zoom units have it implemented). A couple guys have since figured out workarounds to change presets but both involve having some sort of intermediary or specialized device that speaks 'natively' to the Tonex One via the USB interface (one is an app on Android that you have to leave plugged into the Tonex One and the other is a very expensive integrated midi pedal that costs way more than the Tonex One lol)
