Yea, they are pretty amazing units for the price point. The bigger Tonex has a lot more features/functionality onboard but is at least 2-3x the size of the Tone One. The only thing I really wish they added is basic midi functionality (literally just the ability to change presets based on PC codes - this is how the Zoom units have it implemented). A couple guys have since figured out workarounds to change presets but both involve having some sort of intermediary or specialized device that speaks 'natively' to the Tonex One via the USB interface (one is an app on Android that you have to leave plugged into the Tonex One and the other is a very expensive integrated midi pedal that costs way more than the Tonex One lol)
I am amazed with all the automatic scene switches modern bands go through in their live show while they play along to the production background tracks
If buying new, ask customer service rep. When you get it and plug it in, if you hear the hiss, then return it. Most likely you will hear no hiss.
If buying used, try it out before purchase and you'll hear the hiss. I've heard that Fender will fix the hiss for free. Not sure the logistics on it.
There are plenty of YouTube videos on how to tell if it has a hiss or not.
They'd likely have to swap out the main board, as this was due to some really poor engineering; they had something like 8 op-amps cascaded in the front end filtering circuit, a big no-no for low noise design.

I own one of these. It is so phenomenal I'll never go back to tube amps. The TMP has great tones, a ton of processing power and it is by far the easiest modeler to use. I always stayed away from modelers because of the learning curve involved, but I was up and running with the TMP in 5 minutes.

I tried this one and it is really great, but not better than the line6 helix imo. I expect these might be a sick black Friday deal. Even at this price point it is worth it if you are looking for this right now…. But I would wait a few months
To each their own. I own a variety of standalone and built in amp versions of L6, Marshall, Boss etc but this has come to be my goto simply because it is easier to modify the pedals on a preset. Something as little as that shouldn't be a game changer but it is. Whatever lets you be the most productive is what you should go for. I reckon in this day and age the output quality is fairly normalized to a mean with low standard deviation across reputable manufacturers.
Solid tones, but absolutely not worth the money. Helix or Tonec are much better options. I'm a Helix guy and couldn't imagine ever going to this Fender option.
Interesting- have not tried any modern Line 6. I have had an MX5 for gigging and despite all its limitations it has been OK, I record with Neural and PositiveGrid plugins for quality. I jam with PositiveGrid because the tone cloud let's me quickly get close to original tones, if I ever gig on my own material, I will probably get a Quad Core to replicate the recorded sounds live.
I've had a Helix for years, and I'm amazed at all the free updates Line 6 releases, with new features, amp models, and effects. Nobody beats their product support.
If you like third-tier products at second-tier prices, sure.
I've had a Headrush PB, a Helix, and now a Kemper. The Kemper is the one where I'm happy with the sounds and just enjoy playing more. No time wasted twisting knobs.
