Let be clear on their unlocking policy. There is 365 days waiting time, and also the phone should have service for 180 days within 365 days. This is per my recent conversation with their customer service agent.
Please remember that their unlock policy criteria does not specify automatic unlock regardless of the service time.

You're missing the point here. 99% of us only want to pay $125 1x to get the phone. You want to pay $70 a month for 2 years. Not us😀

Somehow GoogleVoice is giving me hard time getting a new number, gives some error even with a brand new Google account and even with a different cell # for verification! Any way to bypass this verification nonsense?

Also, what are other cheap options to get a number just for porting purpose?

The iphone 12 I got from Metro back in mid-March is scheduled to SIM unlock in 2 weeks - just bought another one.

If I transfer the ESIM from this new phone to the old phone, that shouldn't affect the unlock in 2 weeks, right? I wouldn't think so but Metro is kind of shady so just making sure.

Can i not transfer the esim to my current device? I want to trade in the iPhone 12 today but I also don't want to lose access to my metro account. I want to order a tablet later on

Edit:
I was able to transfer the esim to my other spare phone. I had to follow the instructions on the website

Were you able to order the tablet right after activating the iphone? I was getting a message when trying to add another line right after activating the iphone.

I am pretty new to this. So I can buy it, sign up for it for a month then cancel the plan, then I can keep the phone? Then after a year unlock it?

I've had it take 5 days once porting from Gvoice. Apparently, it's because it's a wireline to wireless port.
