Let be clear on their unlocking policy. There is 365 days waiting time, and also the phone should have service for 180 days within 365 days. This is per my recent conversation with their customer service agent.
Please remember that their unlock policy criteria does not specify automatic unlock regardless of the service time.

You're missing the point here. 99% of us only want to pay $125 1x to get the phone. You want to pay $70 a month for 2 years. Not us😀

Yep, it's a problem

I actually wrote a few pages back:

"I unboxed and activated in order to get service active and do the transfer, yes. And yes, you need to have SMS to that line to log in to account and do the transfer in the first place That's another important note with Metro actually. You need to get the number ported out to another IMEI if you intend to sell the phone as Metro locked. Sure you could use the other SIM of the dual SIM configuration But Metro ties the SIM to the IMEI and the only way to port it to another IMEI is while you have access to the account! For which you need text coming in to it! "

From my experiences with Metro a year ago, when I did a similar deal and then sold the Metro locked phone without doing the IMEI transfer first with SIM in phone, the only way I could do it was to go to a Metro store and pay 25 bucks or so

You can try calling. But it won't work. They need that text so you can get into your account

It makes sense from their end: they want to make sure the locked phone that's tied to someone's account isn't stolen and someone else just stuck their Metro SIM in there
So from your post, it sounds like if you transfer the Metro number over to a different phone first, that would clear the SIM/IMEI connection and person could activate the locked phone?

say if you activate the 1st line and then activate the 2nd line two weeks later, when the 1st line end, will the 2nd line continue to work for another two weeks?

I've been trying to transfer the esim to another phone (iPhone and Samsung), but can't get it to work. Saying it isn't compatible with plan?

Yeah I think it's some glitch. you Just have to press cancel and do it over again. Should work in the 2nd or 3rd try

Now it keeps saying invalid IMEI... Guess I might just have to let the plan go to waste after trading in the device.

What current deals are people using this as trade in fodder for? Or anything upcoming?

P9 at Best Buy. People are still picking up orders they placed that fateful day...

Looks like I can't reply my own post, anyone plans to port their number out from metro? I guess most people don't care about their phone numbers after porting in.

"I want to keep my number, can I port out my number, say half a month after I activate the phone and port in my number?"

I tried 3 different versions of qpe unlock card. All 3 can bypass the activation. But they can't get signal from tracfone or cricket. 2 of the 3 work for helium mobile sim. But no hotspot nor wifi calling as it still treats as Metro and ask me to call customer service to enable the function. I have been using it on helium mobile for 5 months. One month left to get it unlocked.
so only 2 out of the 3 phones work with helium. Since helium is tmobile mnvo do you still need to buy the qpe unlock card?

Install the metro app, then it let you move the number to another phone using QR code.

Good question I want to know the answer too. My understanding is that all the lines under the same account have same billing cycle, but I do hope I am wrong lol.

I'm having no luck.

One of the iPhone 12 with Metro app keeps throwing an error/troubleshooting message when trying to login to account.

The other logged in successfully, but when I attempt to switch phones after entering in IMEI and EID, it keeps on prompting me to switch plans.

Been trying to get the plan off one of the iPhone 12 to my iPhone SE, iPhone 12 Pro, or Galaxy S24U.

OK,
I already have activated 2 lines on 2 new iPhone-12 phones and all is good and nothing is pending from "activation" point of view!
So, I just tried for the 3rd line (with a new CC) but still got this message:-

"Please contact us to complete your order.
Your security is important to us. Unfortunately can't complete your order online. Our award-winning Mobile Experts are ready to assist you. Please call us or visit a store to continue."

So I called them and spent almost an hour and the only outcome is, they "can't see my 3rd order so I have to go to the store" and I was like "forget it, I ain't going nowhere"...lol
A long story short,
if it fails online, better to just forget about it !
Store is gonna be a painful experience, no doubt abt that !
