Let be clear on their unlocking policy. There is 365 days waiting time, and also the phone should have service for 180 days within 365 days. This is per my recent conversation with their customer service agent.
Please remember that their unlock policy criteria does not specify automatic unlock regardless of the service time.

You're missing the point here. 99% of us only want to pay $125 1x to get the phone. You want to pay $70 a month for 2 years. Not us😀

Need to wait 12 months. No need to call or cancel anything, just let it cancel on its own after the first month service. You can also use this line to port out to other carriers (Verizon/ATT MNVO) if there's any good deal before the end of your first month.

I checked Apple website and they offer $185 for GC, and $200 towards iPhone15 series. Once they launch 16, do you think they will still keep it at $200 towards the 16 series? I'm thinking I'll just take the $185 GC now and see how things goes. Might wait for the 17 Pro Max since that will have more RAM.

I read here that it's possible to unlock using some other method or methods? qpe card? any other to get it unlocked before 6 or 12 months?

Got my phone activated, I'm planning to trade this phone to apple. My question is what will happen to my gv number after the 30 days? I want to keep the gv number since I used it for my business.

1. What can I do to keep my gv number after 30 day / my plan expires (auto pay is off)
2. How long did you wait to order another phone to "add another line" to the same account.

Hi just want to quickly ask you have successful placed your order and received your phone with a google voice number port in? The website was cancelling my order so just wondering if that's because of GV is blocked.

Ordered two. One to my work and one to the home. Unlocked two google voice numbers I had for $3 each. Easy peasy. Appreciate the posting @honestheart470

1. Port out your number from MetroPCS to whatever your next carrier will be. You'll have to search how to port out from Metro. Trade in is for the device itself so you may want to try to move the eSIM to another device or convert to physical SIM and get that sorted out before letting go of your device.

2. There's no wait time to add the second line. Right after you activate your first line, you can order the second line. You'll see the price is $85 total for the second line.

Did you unlock the Google Voice number beforehand?

You can port the number right back to Google Voice for $20, and that will cancel the line with Metro. You'll need an active phone with Metro to be able to port the number out because they'll text you a code every time you log in, so if you want to keep the number, either port out before you trade in/get rid of the Metro iPhone, or transfer the number to another phone first (if the other phone has eSIM, you can do it for free via the website)

One person posted that they were able to use it on a different carrier via RSIM, but others said they couldn't get it to work. If that doesn't work, then no, you will need to wait 12 months to unlock.

Not sure if this is allowed, but I bought a few 6 months ago when they were $50 more and planned to use them as trade-ins toward 16s. Two of them are already unlocked and the rest will be unlocked in days. Since Apple doesn't care if the trade-ins are carrier locked or not, I'll be happy to trade mine with yours if you're looking to actually use them AND if you happen to be close to where I live, which is the DMV area. Please note two have been opened but have not really been used. The rest are NIB. DM me to negotiate if you're interested.

Next week should see the latest iPhone announced. If I were in the market I would just wait and pickup a used unlocked 12 Pro with more memory when prices drop. An old model base phone with minimal memory locked to a carrier for a year isn't a deal to me. Especially if you have to buy their more expensive plans.

Only value I can see in this deal is buying to use as an iPod Touch.
the main draw for this device is trading it back to carriers. Usually you can get increased trade in value. Off the top you can give this phone back to apple for $200 tetting you $70 if you got 5 of these you can buy the iphone 16 from apple for what comes out to $650 and that is just trading it in for Gift cards. 2 bonus tablets if you sold those for only $100 each(retail $179) it brings your cost down even more. I know that requires more leg work but it does get you a very inexpesive iphone 16pro for less than $500

The best deal was trading one for a free Pixel 9 with a bonus of a $100 Best Buy gift card.

Hard to say, they want people to buy newer phones and since they know how many people are on older models, they could bump up trade in prices.

Buy 1st iPhone 12 for $125 (w/ plan)
Buy 2nd iPhone 12 for $85 (w/ add on plan)

Flip on Apple for $400 GC for your iPhone 16 Pro.
How does the add on plan work? I tried adding an additional line and was only seeing the same promo- $50 phone + $70 plan
