Let be clear on their unlocking policy. There is 365 days waiting time, and also the phone should have service for 180 days within 365 days. This is per my recent conversation with their customer service agent.
Please remember that their unlock policy criteria does not specify automatic unlock regardless of the service time.

You're missing the point here. 99% of us only want to pay $125 1x to get the phone. You want to pay $70 a month for 2 years. Not us😀

Created two GVs

Bought line 1 for 99+75
Bought line 2 (by logging into account on Metro website, which needs line 1 activated to receive verification SMS) for 49+35

Flipped both for two BB Pixel 9s deal.

I should / could have ordered additional Samsung tablet+line for 0+20 but it felt little much.

Account number is your google voice number. Pin is your voicemail pin for call in. Go to your Google voice page and set your voicemail pin. This is on Google port out page
Account number is 1(xxx)xxx-xx-xx. Don't forget the put 1 to the begining of your number. Pin number is your voicemail pin for call-in.

I ported a google voice number a few years ago and it was a disaster. Got a free Motorola phone and I had to wait a week for it to port and then the phone wouldn't receive texts or phone calls. Kept having to go back to store and they couldn't fix itThey wouldn't give me a new phone even though they had several of the same model in the back of the store. They said they had to have one shipped in because it was a warranty replacement and they also said that doesn't guarantee that the new phones gonna work . So then I'm going on two weeks with the phone didn't work and I spent a little over $100 out-of-pocket initially I believeTried going to a different MetroPCS store and found out their franchise so if you have a problem with your phone, you have to go back to the original store In the end they would not give me my money back and they couldn't give me a phone that worked. I told them I could walk to the 7-Eleven next-door and get a phone that worked in five minutes and here we were on two weeks and they still couldn't get a phone that worked For me In the end, I had to file a complaint with the Attorney General for my state to get all my money back and I also lost the Google voice number. I couldn't get that back. Miserable as s experience. I will never buy anything from metro pcs
No, it's very simple . The account number for google voice is your number but don't forget to put 1, so it's 1(xxx)xxx-xx-xx. And the port-out pin is your voice-mail pin.

I just realized a cellphone number can only be used to claim one Google voice number (not sure if I experienced this years ago). Does that mean i won't be able to get a new Google voice number using my cellphone # in the future if I simply let the one I ported in expire with the plan? I was thinking about using my wife's number to clam a new g voice number for a second line, but if that means she'll never be able to get a g voice number in the future, I'm not sure if I want to do it. Thoughts?

A few days after online activation call Metro port dept to manually complete the GV port sooner (by default they take 1mo to finish port)

Once your old GV number is fully ported over and out of Google then you can use that old GV number (now Metro number) to claim a new GV number

Another option if you don't want to call is to let your 1mo Metro service exp -- eventually you'll get an email from GV saying your number ported away (about 1mo after activation). After that you can login to Metro and they'll have an option for a free 72hr service extension during your 2nd mo (no need to pay) -- your service will be working again and your number will be fully ported so you can now use that number to claim another GV number

OK, so I ordered one.
It's arriving Monday.

I will assume everyone here will just cancel Metro after 1 month. If this can not be unlocked free for 12 months, a lot will be just shoving this phone in a drawer for months.

Can the rest share with me, what else beside that I can use this phone for? Because I can not put my Tmo sim in it either, won't work.

I don't expect the BB trade-in value to come back, but has anyone bothered to ask Metro if the free Samsung A9+ tablet (+$20 service) will be back anytime soon?

The iphone12 for $125 you can't use for a year is an just okay deal. They won't be worth much more than that after a year probably anyway. Real deal was using it as BB Pixel 9 trade-in (dead now) and the free ($20) Samsung tablet (also dead now). Current better deal than the $125 i12 is buying a 2nd (or 3rd?) for another $85 with additional port-in ($49 + $35 service)
Can still trade it in to Apple for $170 GC (or $200 towards iphone 15). Can also try an RSim to unlock (temporarily??) the i12, but that's hit and miss. Search... lots of questions and some answers about the RSim.
