Let be clear on their unlocking policy. There is 365 days waiting time, and also the phone should have service for 180 days within 365 days. This is per my recent conversation with their customer service agent.
Please remember that their unlock policy criteria does not specify automatic unlock regardless of the service time.

You're missing the point here. 99% of us only want to pay $125 1x to get the phone. You want to pay $70 a month for 2 years. Not us😀

Got my phone activated, I'm planning to trade this phone to apple. My question is what will happen to my gv number after the 30 days? I want to keep the gv number since I used it for my business.

1. What can I do to keep my gv number after 30 day / my plan expires (auto pay is off)
2. How long did you wait to order another phone to "add another line" to the same account.

Update: If you decide to get a new iPhone 16 or other variations and decide to trade this iP12, you'll only get $180. You may get more if you purchase a iP15 or lower!

Good call out. I didn't think about that last night. Looking at the locations online right now, I don't see any corporate stores around me.
There's no more corp stores. Only scammer stores.

So basically a free phone with a 3 year contract, and you're locked into the expensive rate plans. If you're not on a phone family plan (sometimes even if you are), it's cheaper over the long run to use an MVNO.

Do you still have access to the phone with IMEI tied to the SIM and the SIM itself? It should work if you do. If you gave phone away, the SIM won't work without it and you'll have to go into a store alas

In store will work but with added cost probably

And what I meant is, you need to have the phone to which the SIM was tied by IMEI to get the text message to log in

Metro ties SIM cards to IMEIs

You have to go to store. Because online chat or phone rep will send u a code to your phone. Without a phone to receive the code they cant help u. In store they can check your id and swap the imei for you.

Can anyone explain what happens if a GV number never ports in and you trade the 12 in next week? Will Metro charge my card for the full price of the phone? I only got one to trade so I don't care about the GV number but it hasn't ported in cause I can't receive calls.

It'll eventually finish porting about 1mo after activation (even if your Metro service expires) -- nothing extra to charge since its prepaid and you alrdy activated service to authorize the port

As other poster said, gonna have to go in store. Carries a charge of 30 bucks or something to do the SIM port

I did go to the store. The rep looked at the phone, confirmed IMEI is ok. Reset and redownloaded the esim, but none of these steps fixed it. I asked him if I can transfer to a sim, he said there will be a charge however he said he doesnt think it will fix it. He asked me to call the customer service but mentioned there isnt much hope, since they keep asking folks to come to the store so that they can get them off their back...
