Let be clear on their unlocking policy. There is 365 days waiting time, and also the phone should have service for 180 days within 365 days. This is per my recent conversation with their customer service agent.
Please remember that their unlock policy criteria does not specify automatic unlock regardless of the service time.

You're missing the point here. 99% of us only want to pay $125 1x to get the phone. You want to pay $70 a month for 2 years. Not us😀

Does MKSD works with US Mobile(T-Mobile)?
I'm testing this for you. I removed the T-Mobile sim and replace it with Helium mobile sim (T-Mobile mvno) and it works fine. So I expect us mobile shouldn't be any problem.

People who got multiple phones through Metro, what was your process? I got one iPhone 12 and activated it just now. Online system is not letting me do another order (got 3 payment failed and then they had to cancel port). Do I need to wait to add another line to the account?

I've always wondered about going that post paid route vs buy unlocked and use, say, Tello (prepaid) and how costs shake out in the end

Seemed to me a bit like leasing a car in that you get latest and greatest at higher cost except you do get to keep the phone at the end or upgrade easily before then

Because 225 for 5 lines, unlimited, with 5 bucks per month over 36 months doesn't seem bad at all

Are there other costs that I'm not thinking of?

re: the "other costs" bit, what happens if you're 4 months into the 36-month contract and you break the iPhone 16? Then you're stuck paying for 2 1/2 years with a phone you can't use and you have to either buy another or pay to get it fixed.

5 unlimited lines on Tello would cost $25/mo. Over 3 years, $225/mo on AT&T is $3600 more than what the same plans would cost from Tello. The guy you replied to isn't getting free phones, he's basically paying AT&T $3600 for the phones and locking himself into a 3-year contract (edit: plus if he's also paying $5ish per month, then that's another $200 on top of it)

I received the rsim but its not working. No carrier menu pop up. Do you need to delete the metro esim first? The phone should be on or off while inserting the rsim?

Ok I got it working. Here is what I did. Some steps might not be necessary. But I just wanna start from fresh.

1. Reset network
2. Create passcode
3. Insert rsim with T-Mobile sim
4. When ask for passcode, click emergency, enter # and dial key
5. Pick 5g auto
6. Pick metropcs
7. I think there's a cancel key to exit
Done

This worked for me with my Tello sim card. Awesome deal on an Iphone 12. $125 and unlocked essentially.

Will this keep working? Should I disable ios updates?

I'd disable it. ios 18 could kill this rsim.

After 2 weeks, I had to call to finally get my Google Voice number fully ported in.
