Cigars do keep, generally you want around 70 degrees and 70% humidity to store them. You can buy a humidor (I probably wouldn't suggest that for your case) or you can make a humidor out of Tupperware/Ziploc/Glad with some googling.
Rocky Patel makes some good cigars, these I do or will smoke. They are not bad, they are good. But if it was only smoking 2 times a year, I would go for a Sun Grown or a Decade cigar or something a little higher end and wouldn't trouble myself with storing these.
