Yes the app sucks right now.. they should revert to the old, but they are going to be fixing the new in stages. This has happened before with them, this time it's worse with all the bugs. Last month it split my home into three different groups.

I was disappointed by the ray. I wasn't able to control the volume with my tv remote. went with lg eclair open box I found at bby for $100.

would get arc or beam though

I did purchase an arc era and sub and haven't had issues.

Even before the app nonsense, the Ray was a terrible buy. It's simply a terrible soundbar that doesn't do anything well. The Beam is great on sale and I love the Arc too, but they are expensive and worth holding off on until the app is fixed and Sonos can commit to better long term support for their products.

Not the first time they did something jaw-droppingly dumb. Remember the "Recycle Mode" debacle five years ago? Not sure if that happened under this same CEO, but encouraging people to voluntarily brick perfectly good speakers is some weapons-grade stupid.

This is a great price on a great little sound bar. I'm a direct dealer for 15 years with sonos and for the money this little sucker will fill every single bedroom or small to mid size area in your house effortlessly. Those with remote control issues need to do a little more research as Ive yet to install one (or any Sonos Sound Bar) and not be able to control it with any remote I throw at it. Yes their apps sucked a couple of months ago but everything appears to be working very very smooth now and it will get back to perfection.

The Beam 2 has decent bass. The Ray not so much, but it's a great sounding stereo sound bar. Probably one of the best for its size.

The Ray was introduced with the Beam. It's a small soundbar meant for bedrooms and offices.
