Beginning MONDAY August 26, Subway will sell any footlong sandwich for $6.99 — a steep discount considering that some footlongs can cost as much as $14 in some cities. It's the privately held chain's latest attempt at luring back customers who are balking at rising fast food prices and spending less when they do go out.

The deal has a catch: The offer is only available via its app or website with the code "699FL" and ends on September 8.

It was 6.99 just two years ago and now you need an app and only eat when they decide when we eat.
Um at least for everyone I know they Love being able to order through the app so not really sure whats bad about it? You can place your not standing in line and waiting for them to ask ingredients when you can make it exactly how you want it online. I get 2/3rds of the vegetables they have and at least in my area they're always fresh and good

I went to subway for the first time since $5 foot long and was disgusted at the prices now. They even have multiple $15(!) dollar footlong subs now.

We were the only people in there, on a busy Saturday, at noon.

These places are going to price themselves right out of business.

They've gone through and removed several of the classics, renamed them, and turned them into $12 subs. Subway has lost their mind.
Exactly what they did to the Spicy Italian. They did add a bit more meats, but doubled the price. I'm not objecting to the $7 sub. A real italian deli nearby is getting $20+ now. But, I don't like them jacking with the sandwich recipe I've gotten for over 20 years. They've generally been a decent, fast lunch. $7 isn't going to kill me. Messing with the product is my red line.

Subway was always the just so so place for a quick sandwich many years ago. Blows my mind they thought they could scale back with even lower quality ingredients, shrink their sizes and raise their prices way up. Zero reason to ever go there anymore.

I wonder if their sales were affected by the boars head meat recall.

The meat on these subs is non-existent. If you get this deal, I Highly Recommend getting the meatball sub. At least on that, it's harder for them to hide that they are not putting anything on it.

YMMV but I also had good luck on the old Kmart Style coldcut sandwich from there.

Cooked meat? They're putting about half as much on these subs now. Pull out your magnifying glass.🔍

People love to complain about the high price of Jersey Mike's, then pop over here and cry about the low quality Subway sandwiches. At full price, like 3 bucks separates them.

$14 subs and being pissy about which subs qualified for the meal deal coupons is what screwed them.. good luck getting customers back after that listeria outbreak.. i know it was mainly at slicing delis but still.. eat at home looks a whole lot better than a hospital bed

Some of us only have Subway as an option for sandwiches, or the grocery store.
If you had Wegmans as a grocery store that's all you need.

This sounds like Jared... No issues with ordering his footlong online.

$12.58 for 2 footlongs today w/ bogo coupon. Sandwiches were good but definitely won't order at regular prices.

When they removed the bmt from the classic menu, and added extra cheese and raised the price, I was out. Jimmy John's, jersey Mike's and potbelly are all better subs.
i just noticed this as I've not had subway for a quite some time. The BMT is now a premium sub and can only be be ordered with extra cheese.
