Also down to wait for the Kuwai deal to come back.
Need to play them to decide. I strongly dislike the Roland action - it's like they overdesigned it to try to mimic good grand piano action but ultimately ended up with something clunky and heavy. Acoustic piano sunds are inferior to Kawaii as well IMHO.
have u guys tried talking to customer reps via online message to get it further down?
I previously tried to get the last Casio deal after missing it and they were back and forth on it, ultimately deciding against it. Not sure how negotiable they are. These deals are usual manufacturer rebates from what I understand.

Oh I didn't know there's a new Roland at Costco for the same price as the previous one but with 3 pedals! I am interested! The previous one my kids tried at the store and they liked it but it can't be connected to 3 pedals ( they already have a Casio keyboard with 3 pedals) . So I guess this one is an upgrade for the same price? I hope there will be sale around Christmas time... it could be a nice Christmas present for my 2 kids instead getting them toys or video games 😀
Would experts consider this the best keyboard for a beginner in the ~$500 price range?
It's subjective, but I think that is fair to say. If you do manage to find one "better" than this, it certainly won't be much better at all. I'm not an expert, but I've been playing for a few years and like toy around on a piano whenever I see one around.

It's kind of hard to compare best to worst because all brand name pianos have certain features over others. It really depends on your specific needs and preferences. This is one of the best bang for your buck deals you can get in the $500-700 price range, but many people do not enjoy the Roland action. It's a bit heavy and slow on the return compared to other models.

I have heard this Roland action is very comparable to an acoustic piano which is very attractive to me. I would not want to get used to a light action then struggle when using an acoustic piano.
