Yeah, spending $1000+ at these type of robot, getting broken down after 12 months, send in repair service for $100 shipping cost (yeah they DO NOT cover shipping)...after the warranty, the robot will be breaking down soon , the repair cost = repair cost at least $100-200/repair + $50-100 shipping cost

These robot are money pit blackhole!

I have been using Roborock since 2018. It has 2712 clean-ups and 44,000M^2 cleaning for a total of 832 hours. I replaced the battery once I ordered from Amazon and sometimes replaced filters and other maintenance items. It saved much of my time, and I cannot imagine living without it. You might think your Dyson cleans better, but I would not trade it for an already-cleaned home after returning from work. 832 hours of cleaning, I already saved easily over $4000 over the period if time is a factor for you.

I've been using a Roborock S5 for probably 5 years. Nothing is broken or doesn't work. The complaints I do have are relatively small and I had them since day 1. Point being, it's a quality product and I would buy another one. I most certainly don't think any robot vacuum is worth over $1k, but that's me.

This is an amazing price for this model. I have one (replaced my S8 Pro) and its been flawless. If I needed another one I'd totally buy it at this price. (I paid A LOT more).

I bought an S7V Max Ultra and tried to trade it in just now and they said it's not tradeable because it's a refurbished unit from their certified eBay store. Unit has 50 hours of use on it ha. Guess I won't be trading it in or buying a new one

their trade in program is crap. If I trade in my unit its 1599 with 5-600 trade credit or I can buy the new unit outright for 1099. Makes no sense.

Mines is still in the box as I'm in the process of moving in and was wondering if I should return the S7 Max Ultra for this S8 MaxV.

yeah but they're working on everyday. spend 1k for 1 year or do home work for year. That's your choice.

I am not saying you are wrong but want to describe my experience which could be YMMV. I purchased S7 via SD deal directly from the store on Nov 16, 2021. My robot vacuum has been cleaning my 3BR apartment every weekday morning since then. I have never changed any parts, while being recommended to do so. The brush below got a bit of wear and tear but still remains functional. It never broke. When we leave it and travel for two weeks I return to the machine not being stuck (10 cleaning sessions performed flawlessly). I bought it for $699 no sales tax.
