Best buy is the same price, probably the most convenient to get it genuine and faster for most people.

Not really very good price actually considering the performance. This drive internally uses a very budget QLC Flash SSD with SATA controller and that's why it is cheap. It is basically a customized version of 870 QVO SATA SSD.
If you pay $25 to $50 more, you can get a PCIe Gen 3 based external SSD with more than double the performance. Crucial X6 4TB is just $228 at Newegg, offering almost double the performance and X8 is around $250, offering over 1000 MB/s speed.

The only advantage with this Samsung drive is its small Pen drive like form factor, smaller than most higher performance alternatives.

If you can you wouldn't want to. SSDs aren't really made to how many times they are going to be written over. A normal hard disk is easy to find and made specifically for camera use. Look at the warranty page and you will see most non camera drives specifically state warranty void if used for camera/ dash cam usage.

Anyone bought similar ones from Ali Express, I would like to know the quality of the product received; because these drives are dirt cheap there.

Probably fake or scam drives if its too cheap. There are a few legit Chinese SSD brands but you need to do your research on them.

This is slow for an SSD. Which is why it's at such a low price point.

Thanks.
Would you have any links for the other drives?

In terms of longevity/durability, how does this drive compare to the ones you mentioned?

What's your beef with Amazon, the store that always strives for customer service? On the contrary, please check this https://www.timesofisrael.com/jew...imination/
LOL, customer service? Right.

They are an evil company. Period. You cannot trust the reviews. Case in point... I have been blocked for years from leaving any kind of review as they say "my account has had suspicious activity". I've contacted customer service many times and no one seems to have any idea what is happening (or they're not allowed to say).

Last year (or the year before) a seller emailed me asking if I could kindly leave a review if I was happy with the item I bought. I told them I would but I am blocked from leaving any kind of review. They said that often happens if you leave too many negative reviews and they have never heard of that ban being lifted.

So, if I am not allowed to leave any reviews, good or bad, and I buy an item that is garbage, I cannot leave a review... so i cannot alert others to my experience. Stop and think how many other people there are like me that cannot leave any reviews. Now add in the totally obvious FAKE reviews on so many of their products.

Now, add in the all of the other abominations they partake in... most notably, last year or the year before, they locked a guy OUT of his account because they (amazon) did not like something he posted or said. They 'thought' it was a racial issue (turns out, it was not) but the guy had most (or all) of his house controlled by amazon alexa devices... of which, he could not access any longer.... and we still do (for now) have freedom of speech in this country whether you or I like what is being said.... but amazon is a true fascist company and they continuously prove it again and again (just like FascisTube, and the others).

It depends on the workload. This is much slower for large sequential transfers than a native usb drive like the X6 or something with a usb to NVME bridge. It's generally faster than dram-less drives for random operations, and can be much faster with random writes. The X6 would work better for video storage or as a backup drive. This would work better as a Steam drive, for working with documents and media files, or as an OS boot drive.
