seems like a lot of people prefer the ported over sealed. I got the SB 1000 Pro which is cheaper and smaller. Some people really care about the size
That's mainly because people are often told ported is for HT and sealed is for music.

It's just not that simple and not necessarily correct.

I can tell you 1st hand I run dual SB3000s and regularly people are amazed/shocked when they realize it!

Pb1000 and pb2000 were the real values. Now everything is overpriced sadly.

Rocking 2 PB2000 and it's all I'll ever need in our house.

Thanks for pointing this out!

I'm glad I went with a PB-1000 Pro over the 10E which has a non-flat response, a -3dB point at only 30Hz, and almost nothing below 20Hz EEK!
I have it and I love it with my Focal 807v speakers

They can keep their subs at those prices. They act like they're the only game in town. Got myself Klipsch rp1400sw and haven't looked back. Sold off my old 10" SVS which was amazing sub but just wasn't sufficient my room size.

Crazy how expensive these have become. I bought the SB16 Ultra during their 2018 Memorial Day sale for only $1400 out the door. Now it costs $2045!
Nice. I paid $1639 for mine July 2020

Audioholics has reviewed the 10E

Best thing to keep in mind with this that often gets said but often overlooked/ignored.

"As always, I will note here that since room acoustics have a huge effect on low frequencies, the way these subwoofers sound in my room at my listening position is not necessarily going to be the way they sound anywhere else for anyone else, so readers would do well to keep that in mind, and not just for this subwoofer in this review but for any subwoofer in any review."

I was going to say RSL also. Speedwoofer is solid for the price.

SVS is the greatest home audio company that exists today, and the sale is great! I've been pushing 2 SB16 Ultra's for years now and think I'll add two more from the sale.

People complaining about the price have probably never had to deal with customer service.. SVS isn't just a simple purchase, you also get world-class customer service that I've never experience from any other company, audio or not.

The more they've become a mainstream player, the more their operations (including costs like advertising and price increases to cover margins no longer realized as ID only) scale and the more their prices reflect it. They're not the ID darling they were 10 or 20 years ago, and that's OK. There's still value there compared to the wholly mass-market brands, especially the higher you go up the stack.

Other ID options now fill the high-value lower/midrange that SVS captured a decade ago... RSL, Monoprice Monolith, HSU, and even OSD have compelling offerings in the ~$300-1K range that undercut SVS most days.

The 10E hasn't been independently tested. I called RSL and results from a third party reviewer should be released soon though.
it has been independently tested and got very good reviews. audioholics gave it 5/5 stars for value (Highest possible score).

I saw that. I can't argue against it's retail price and value. But its accuracy is sub-par, and it's crap below 30Hz.

For speakers and subs, I recommend Slickdealers buy used instead of new, IF they live inside a strong used market. They'll get way more value for their money.

There have been so many great subs released in the last 15 years, and they go for pennies on the dollar used. Most last for decades. Just find one that suits your needs in the spreadsheet I posted and find it used.

Haven't looked at SVS for some time. Was ultra replaced by ultra evolution?
