Yes, Linksys LN1301 is a terrific router with 2 GB RAM and 1 GB of flash. Insane! I thought my Netgear R7800 with 512 MB RAM is pretty good until the specs on LN301 blows the R7800 out of the water and is a tri-band router as well!

With wireless mesh (instructions below), it's one heck of a deal and blows DECO AX5000 deal out of the water, imho.

EDIT: UPDATED instructions for enabling MESH (thanks to @rbtcordell for the original source):

1-Setup your Main router completely.

2-Plug your child node using the wan port to the main router lan port, wait for a solid purple light on the child node before proceeding

3-Log into your main router web admin.

4-Click on CA at the bottom right.

5-Click on Connectivity and CA Router setup.

6-Click on both Add Wired and Add Wireless nodes buttons. Wait for the Add wireless button to re-enable.

7-Click Done adding Child Nodes and then Apply.

8-Now the child node light should start flashing purple and turn into a mesh mode when it turns blue.

9-Disconnect Ethernet and wait for blue light again.

10-Move node to desired location.

Was able to rename the linksys network's name and password to be the same as the new spectrum router it was replacing.
Spared me from having to reconfigure everything on my network.

So i bought 2 of these planning to use one as a wired access point for the other at two ends of the house. I have ethernet run through the walls so this was always the plan but I see a lot of people buying them to use as mesh. Just wondering if anyone has input on whether it would be worth using as an access point over mesh at this point?

If you can hardwire them nothing better than that

Any chance it will arrive sooner than Sep 12 which is what woot says?
I'm leaving for a trip on Sep 1... I might cancel it if not
I ordered one during the last deal on the 15th. I got a tracking number on the 20th and it should be here today. It was shipped from California and I live in WV.

I bought one a few weeks back for $25 and thought that was pretty cheap for a newish feature AP (don't need the router feature) but now for the price fo a chicken sandwich from Chic-fil-A do I upgrade my AP that is a plugged into socket version that is only 10/100 which I bought for like $50...

I'm a total newb when it comes to mesh systems but I am tech savvy and can figure things out - so for those using multiples of these to create your own mesh system, is it reliable? I couldn't get the AX5000 Costco deal that was posted 2 days ago but if I can grab 3 of these and mesh them together then sounds like a great ~$45 rig. Just want to be sure I will end up with a reliable system that won't result in the wifey complaining about slow or no connections.

Edit to add: I would need this to be wireless as well. No ethernet cables in the walls.

Yeah, I'm waiting for OpenWRT to get a bit more stable and packages sorted out before I go that route. Bought these as a project to screw around with, so just doing some experimenting with the stock firmware for now (power draw, config, range, throughput, etc).
I think it's a good idea to wait. I just flashed openwrt [github.com] this morning. The router became non-responsive on ping (of 192.168.1.1) even though my Ethernet port's IP was set to 192.168.1.100 manually. Cycling of power or holding reset pin didn't help. In other words, it's "bricked". Anybody had the same problem? I hate to get access to the serial port as it seems opening the case is a pain.
