Yes, Linksys LN1301 is a terrific router with 2 GB RAM and 1 GB of flash. Insane! I thought my Netgear R7800 with 512 MB RAM is pretty good until the specs on LN301 blows the R7800 out of the water and is a tri-band router as well!

With wireless mesh (instructions below), it's one heck of a deal and blows DECO AX5000 deal out of the water, imho.

EDIT: UPDATED instructions for enabling MESH (thanks to @rbtcordell for the original source):

1-Setup your Main router completely.

2-Plug your child node using the wan port to the main router lan port, wait for a solid purple light on the child node before proceeding

3-Log into your main router web admin.

4-Click on CA at the bottom right.

5-Click on Connectivity and CA Router setup.

6-Click on both Add Wired and Add Wireless nodes buttons. Wait for the Add wireless button to re-enable.

7-Click Done adding Child Nodes and then Apply.

8-Now the child node light should start flashing purple and turn into a mesh mode when it turns blue.

9-Disconnect Ethernet and wait for blue light again.

10-Move node to desired location.

set it as an Access Point.
1. Disable DHCP (optional)
2. Set the device to Bridge Mode under Connectivity tab
3. Connect cable from your router to a LAN port.
4. Get some nail polished and a round sticker to cover the annoying flashing right light.
5. Click the 'AC' at the bottom of the page to see the detail configurations of wifi.

Coupon only works for 1. This is still a better deal.
Aha! Now I don't feel all that bad. $80 is not too far from $75.

I think so. That's what I'm doing. Just checked and I paid about $50 a piece for two TM-AC1900s several years ago and they are great. Just flashed fresh tomato because Asus no longer supports them. These routers are a lot newer and faster though and I got two for less than one of the Asus routers.

Can I get a real life answer here on the mesh performance and speed tests? And to the people that are currently using for mesh what firmware are you using? Someone here posted this router has issues with wall penentration, I thought that was most routers can anyone give some insight on their own experiences so far? Was considering getting rid of my deco mesh (tha's been solid so far) and diving into this because now I'll have 3 units over 2 and possibly more coverage via mesh also the ability to have 4 ethernet ports on the back.
It's going to be so location specific as with all WiFi. This is why WiFi mesh or anything can be so frustrating even for tech savvy.
I know I have a few "great deals" on "better" routers just sitting in boxes since they were too flaky. My Archer 21 was cheap and just sitting there working.
The fact that you have reliable deco seems unlikely this will be better.
At this price I grabbed since not too painful to test. Takes time to setup then reconnect all your smart bulbs etc. took me an hour while doing my laundry etc to set 2 Linksys as child mode for mesh.
I'm using WiFiMan to test and only just be using last week. I have noticed better speeds due to extra node for yard...but really everything was working even with very bad signal in the past. Better in some tests but for my uses not noticable in real world use
I may have noticed weaker signal only rooms away where it was perfect with only 1 TPlink router. Maybe the hand-off to other AP.
So far I'm happy I ordered 3... only 2 arrived from when $20. I don't plan on keeping using. Not enough of a benefit for me since I have almost everything wired and one router perfectly placed works perfectly.
I'm only testing due to SD effect and buddy or brother have horrible Wi-Fi coverage due to home duct work and how FIOS placed everything
I have strong distrust of current Linksys software and hardware but for now after painful setup that seemed random. Working fine on stock. I've never setup Linksys account just connected using pwd on router using laptop, change to my choice settings. Once setup parent I got wifi node. Then using app with only router login did channel scan. Tried wired backhaul and Wi-Fi all worked as expected.

I purchased 2 Linksys in the last woot sale. I have set up a Parent/Child mesh using the stock firmware. The Linksys mesh system is faster and has better range than my 2 TM-AC-1900's in mesh using the stock ASUS RT-AC68U firmware. So if you just want to have a better connection to the Internet around the house, the Linksys is better.
The ASUS firmware has more features and flexiblility. You can set up a host VPN, run/access disk storage with the USB port, have 4 WAN ports, and can set up 3 guest SSID's with separate 2.4 and 5G access. The Linksys only has one guest SSID.

This is probably not the right place to post this, but I am so thrown off by this new lay-out for SlickDeals Forum Threads ... I'm trying to "search" this thread for "VLAN" to see if anyone commented on whether or not VLAN is supported by this device ... I can't find the search button! I'm in the slickdeals forum (yellow background) and when I click the post, I get to his new interface with a white background, different layout etc... there used to be a feature that said "click here for Forum Thread" but I can't find that if it exists?

Does LinkSys offer CLIENT VPN? What about VLANs?

Anyone know how many devices this can control? I have tons of wifi light switches and blinds and cameras, etc. Also can you separate 2.4 and 5ghz channels or do they both need to be on one ssid?

Also any way to order 4 at this price? I think it said coupon can be used once, right?

Not with the stock firmware. You would need to install OpenWRT

Yes I separate the name for 2.4 and 5G. I think I saw somewhere mention 40 devices.

Can only be used once... Was originally targets towards businesses, so you should be fine. Best value is if you 4 distinct prime accounts. Can make 4 woot accounts, and get free shipping + $5 discount, but this is impossible for most people to do.
