When I worked in a water lab we had a Miele lab washer that used deionized water for the final rinse. Being a $17K to 20K item it was full of wiring and solenoids. I would simply pull up a milk crate and intermittently open the door to see what happened at each cycle. I hope you could find something simple. I have seen many horror stories from Lowe's to Costco where it took months to get technicians out. Have you called their help line? I wish you luck since it is such a downer to get an out of the box failure.
You can do all of this using the Home Connect App. The utensils and dishes come out blazing hot and most of the plastics are dry. There will be little pools of water on any dishes or cups that have deep dimples on the bottom.
I've also had to get used to staggering lighter items (even metal ones) so that the water jets don't flip them over and end up full of water. There's a slightly learning curve.
Bought this when it was around $900 at Home Depot
Cons:
Biggest frustration is that by adding a top rack you reduce the space of the second rack, so taller items such as tumblers, tall glasses and plates won't fit.
Essentially the top rack takes away more than it adds and it's a big negative!
Silverware bin is so small - apparently you're supposed to lay out each piece on the top rack
Also, Top rack will basically only fit silverware and lids, making it a super limited space
