I love these buds, they sound great and anc is one of the best if it fits your ear

The issue is that they use foam eartips and they wear down over time

Pretty poor cost / longevity decision and it's unnecessary as my bose qc buds ultra block more noise with its standard silicone tips

The warranty is not from Sony. But people have had good experience with the Allstate warranty.

i have these, bought from Second from Ebay. they drain batteries over night even though you have them turn off on the app and disconnect blue tooth completely.

Coming from the Jabra 7's. There's a lot that I prefer about the Jabras but with them exiting the business, these and Technics az-80s are really the only options.

The touch sensitive controls are particularly annoying.

As a counterpoint, some prefer the fit and feel of foam ear tips to silicone. Fortunately tips are inexpensive and easily changed. Many find Spinfit tips a comfortable replacement.

In for one. I've been waiting for these with the 2yr warranty. I've had the 3's and 4' s and always paid from Allstate if the issue is not fixable.

I'm coming from the Jabra 75t and 75t elite and can't find anything quite as good for sound quality and ANC. Why do you say only this item or Technics AZ-80?

Jabra released the Elite 10 Gen 2 and Elite 8 Active Gen 2 in June this year and they seem to have decent reviews and ANC. Curious why you aren't considering these

Did some research for the last few hours and thought I'd share my opinion.

Ranked best to worst in terms of ANC effectiveness and all day comfort:
Bose QuietComfort Ultra
Sony XM5
Jabra Elite 10 Gen 2
Jabra Elite 8 Active Gen 2
Technics AZ-80

The top 3 are the top 3 in the industry currently. One (this one) is significantly priced differently and has been trending down gradually. I don't see Bose discount their product much at all and Jabra just released those models so that likely won't trend down too soon.

So while I was going to wait, with the warranty and return policy on this one I'm pulling the trigger.

Not him but the az-80's are probably better in terms of sound quality and anc is just as good as the xm5's for the same price(or used to be since now xm5s are going for 249.99 retail and the az-80s are still at 299.99). Getting the xm5s for 126ish is a pretty good deal if the condition is like new all things considered.
