I am going to speak in defense of this TV because I bought its previous gen two years ago and these TVs get unfairly trashed

There are some major benefits to this TV over OLEDs or the high end VA panels (sony 90k, hisense u8, tcl 6, etc)

My favorite strength is that these QNEDs are absolutely flicker free. If you deal with eyestrain or eye twitching, this TV changes all of that. I can watch or play games even when I slept poorly or had a rough day. I do not even need blue light filter.

Another high point is response time is incredibly low in game mode. 60fps content looks amazing even from a compressed source like youtube.Games perform perfectly, no issue with scrolling elements or ghosting.

If you are viewing in a lit room, the screen looks great and has amazing angles. Properly applied bias lighting can get it closer to VA and OLED in a dark room.

Colors in real life pop. If you watch anime or sports, this TV is actually probably a better choice than OLED especially for this price. If you are a movie purist then definitely go OLED but for mixed usage this is it. also in these two years, it has functioned amazingly as a large PC monitor.

Everything else about the TV is good to great. Inputs, hdmi 2.1, TV software, ports, etc. Nothing is really missing

For the price and with that ridiculous warranty, an amazing deal

This QNED85 series is NOT the same as the one you bought 2 years ago. This 2024 version is edge-lit... NOT mini-led, and less dimming zones. This 2024 QNED85 is more like last year's QNED80 series. OP stated 7.9 score on Rtings and mentioned info about a prior deal, but all that is for the model you bought 2 years ago. Rtings has not yet reviewed this lesser 2024 model. https://mobilecontent.costco.com/...5785SS.pdf

It is so frustrating that manufacturers play games like that with different products in the same model lines. Much like Samsung, where you can buy a 2024 model with a panel that is first-gen QD-OLED.Every time I think I've found a decent deal it ends up being not at all what I want. Thank god for Rtings, otherwise I'd never know what's up.

This TV looks awesome in person. Will it get OLED black? No. But the tech in this allows the display to get very dark with no noticeable blooming. A hard to justify the B3 over this at this price point.

I saw this TV in person on display at COSTCO and the display looks stunning, Colors were amazing and brightness was the best / most compared to some of the SONY and Samsung TV's next to it. I am trying to decide if i should get it now or wait for further price reductions towards Thanksgiving or Xmas. (Currently own a SHARP 40inch HDTV which after so many years still looks amazing like it was bought the first day)

Does anyone have this 2024 version TV who can speak for Standard Definition Upscaling and how well this TV handles Upscaling in general ??

Thank you

I just gave this TV as a gift to my son in his new apartment. I do not see the difference in picture quality between this one and my Sony 75X90K at home, but his living room is a lot of brighter. The build-in Dolby Atomos speakers on my Sony X90K is better, but we all use sound bars anyway. My son is particular very happy about the gaming mode and response time on this TV. I guess young adults always hook up the remaining 3 HDMI ports to their gaming consoles.
The only drawback on this TV is that it only supports ASTC 1.0 because LG has a spat with Dolby. It does not matter if your favorite local TV stations do not support NextGen signals. My son only do streaming and TV signals is not good in the apartment anyway.
