The drop down that asks what company you are porting in from is for marketing/data purposes only and has no bearing on them knowing what company your phone number or account number belong to. The WLNP or Porting system is a national system that will automatically route the request to the losing carrier. Verizon, Visible or Total or any carrier will have no way of knowing that, until they receive the data/report that they will run off of the WLNP port system for their board meetings or press releases that they can brag about. By that time, it'll to way past the end date of the promo and they're really not going to snatch you off the plan, because it'll be a nightmare!
Verizon finally is no longer sitting back watching the small time player beat up on their big team. They will definitely be taking a lot of cost conscious customers back that they lost over the past few years with this one. Holiday season is right around the corner, too.
I suspect that that once they hit a home run with this one, they'll launch a new promo to get the $15 customers to bump up by $5 or so to the next tier, Just like T-Mobile did when they started uncarrier.

Now the pressure begins to get them to actually honor the deal for all that did order.
If they don't honor pending orders, they'll get FCC complaints aplenty.

Common sense (and some corporate reps) say that they will honor the offer for some time, to allow shipping, receipt, activation, etc. One corporate rep said until Nov 21, which was rather precise so maybe he was reading an internal announcement. Others said at least 30 days.
Otherwise they would have been advertising the offer on their home page and taking orders for shipping this past day right up to the deadline under false pretenses, which seems extraordinarily unlikely and would possibly be an offense under consumer protection and other laws.
So I am confident people will have at least a week or two to activate, probably more.

Can I delete this phantom device without problems - it says I have a "plan in reserve." Delete device is an option.
Also - the website captured a payment method and that is the default when I check autoenroll. Can this be deleted? I'd like to refill this quarter via paypal.
The renewal dates are staggered - I'd rather have them all renew on the same day.
I know they have a big mess to clean up so I'll check again tomorrow. Any feedback would be appreciated - thanks!

I have those too but it would not delete them as I mentioned. I am just leaving them for this month. I will clean it up next month. Let other people deal with any bugs in this time of chaos.
I just paid and turned on Autopay via check box at the same time. You can use configure/add whatever credit cards you want. It took my $30 for 2 lines which is all I need to accomplish this month.
It should have aligned the end dates on your account by prorating one. I guess it took yours as 2 separate dates. It may well clean it up for next month. For this first month I would just try to survive with minimum changes.
I tried calling a few times to get this fixed. Reps are either clueless or playing dumb as they don't want to deal with this. They are always polite though!
Filed a FCC complaint, l got a call immediately from corporate but it's the same story again. They are saying, it will be fixed on the day of the next billing, which I doubt. Unless we find the right CS who can raise the right ticket or knows how to apply the promo this won't be fixed. How can they not know after a month now??
Do I have any option other than waiting patiently? I hate to port out, having done all the leg work. I gave up many months of prepaid time on those lines to get this deal.

My renewal charge is not correct - four lines should be 60 but they are charging 67 and change due to "tax based on the zip code of my credit card." I'm hoping I don't have to hit up support to fix stuff - all the plans say they are "tax included" but I do have a bogus fifth device with "plan in reserve..."

You've already filed with the FCC so let it play out. Check under your account to see if the tickets were created. They are listed under "My Support" when you log in via the web browser.
