I bought an earlier model of this with a 13900kf instead back in October and it's been great so far. I've run into 0 issues

4080 at 1400? Lol

The 4080 is 900$+ alone.

So, you're telling me let's have them just give it to you for free?

I can imagine the warranty on this would be a futile effort to try using (likely pay for shipping).

I need an upgrade and this would be a build i would do. But I have terrible luck with prebuilts...

After seeing what Starforge charges for an i5 setup, this seems like a pretty low price for the convenience offered on a system that could handle new games for close to a decade.

If the pictures are correct on Walmarts page, it seems to be an Asus Proart Creator motherboard. That is a pretty decent board considering it is a pre-built. Other photos I see show a different motherboard. Hopefully they ship what is in the photos.
Yeah I saw on some of the other pictures/builds that it could be an ASUS, MSI, or some Z90 D5 board. If it's asus that would be okay as they rolled out a patch for the microcode bug.

EDIT: and of course the description mentions a different SKU: Y60BI9N4704
I've parsed this to mean Y60 is the case variation, BI9 is intel [I9], N470 is Nvidia 4070, and the final number is different iterations (1 was 13th gen, 2+ look like 14th gen, but also of note the PSU can vary from 700w to 750 depending on the build).

Should have 4080 at this price in my opinion. Rest of specs are nice.
The only way i coudl spec this out and come close to this price for new is utilizing Microcenter bundle discounts and even then it wasn't beating it.
And that was using pretty much the most discount parts available (which in my experience thus far Ibuypower hasn't done at least in the last 2 builds I've seen from them).

I love building my own rigs, but this is a great price.

yep, boutique builders will have boutique prices. builders like ibuypower go wholesale, minimal quality + minimal effort = minimal price. higher quality components + more effort matching up parts that will perform better together + higher labor cost = higher price. building yourself is somewhere in the middle depending what you buy.

I'd just wait for a big sale and cash back 10% or higher then pull the trigger on an alienware with a 3 year warranty. let them replace it if anything goes wrong, and if nothing goes wrong you've probably saved 30% of a boutique build.
absolutely disregard anything gamersnexus says, he's still mad he didnt get an alienware for his birthday 20 years ago.
The mentality of this site is mind-boggling that you can slag off a consumer watchdog like Steve and get a plus one for it. Waste of time posting here.

Per tech support odds are the board is in this order of possibilities:

Asus prime z790-p
Msi pro 790-p

Also, Max Memory is 64GB only (on Walmart site) ?

Do we know which motherboard is used?
i zoomed in and it would appear to say "ProArt" on it, which would be some flavor of Asus ProArt series... In another angle, I can see a design with the same pattern as a ProArt. Based on the pics, it would be a ProArt Creator WiFi, but I can tell which one. YMMV as the pics show that, but do they always use the same mobo? Dunno

I think I've narrowed it down. The pics are a ProArt Creator WFi Z-790 based on the visual cues matching only that model... The writing, placement of it, and the specific pattern of diagonal markings seen here: https://www.asus.com/us/motherboa...ator-wifi/

I wouldn't pay to much to a stock photo to identify the mother board.
It's whatever they had when the photographer arrived. I trust there tech support that actually looked up what boards have been going inside each model #

Wishful thinking, if this had a 4080 this would be the best gaming desktop deal we've seen all year. A 4080 is around $950 and i9 14900KF around $500, that alone would be worth more than $1399

I noticed a discrepancy on the RAM. Site title says 32 GB, the specs list says 16 GB.

the Mfr website says this model has 32 GB Ram, but only a 1 TB HDD...

who knows what you'll end up with. the start price of $2099 is also much lower than it should be compared to other model specs/prices.

overall, this seems too good to be true, and return is likely..
