I have this iPad, it runs latest iOS and feels great, pairs with cheap pencil 1st gen and plenty of cases available for cheap. It does not feel the same as the Pro, but its a new Apple device that will receive updates for years
Apple silicon as a marketing term is used to refer to M series processors , which are laptop grade capable. I believe the iPad Pros have them and maybe some other iPads also have it now. This one does not. But I can see how it's confusing.
I picked one of these up when it went on sale at Target earlier. $199 is an incredible price for a Tablet for kids when you consider the alternatives. Had the Amazon Kids Tablet before and that thing would consistently crash causing my daughter to get frustrated as she was watching something in the car ride somewhere. The UI/UX is a million miles better on iOS. She's used to it by now since she was borrowing our iPad Pro for a while. 64GB is plenty for a ton of downloaded YouTube videos and a few kids games. I would highly recommend this for anyone who has kids. Don't get hung up on the specs since remember a few years ago this was all the rage and the new thing. Technology is a moving goal post and to be honest, Apple products are pretty damn good now. They are starting to hit the point of diminishing returns which is why I stopped upgrading at the iPhone 11 Pro and will only upgrade once my device starts showing signs of performance issues due to age.

I have an apple tv. Bought two generation older from ebay. Doesn't have app store. Really sucks big time,
No difference from the free tv app. Ten times the price of Roku now. Moral of the comment: buy new gen or don't if you cannot afford it.
Lmfao, comparing an Apple TV that doesn't do yearly releases to an iPad or anything else is ignorant, along with the fact that you got got because your Apple TV is more than two generations old.
Moral of your comment, don't be stupid next time and do better research.
This iPad is nothing like your super old Apple TV.

No, it's not a M1 or M2 chip. I personally would not buy buy an iMac or iPad that wasn't at least an M1 chip. The new iOS pad software needs an M1 for a lot of the new features.
Thx. What specifically do know will not work. I have an old one v5 and just want a bit more speed. Good to know before I buy.

That guys an idiot. Unless you're doing video edits and all that, which you wouldn't be looking at a $200 tablet if you were, he's wrong. I have both and can do the same on both.
Realistically, in your opinion, how much longer, will this 9th Generation iPad be able to be used, for those simple types of tasks? Another 6 months to a year? 2 years? 3 years?
My kids seem to be happy with their 10 year old iPad Minis 🤣
