There's also a bundle that will ship out around Sept 12 that includes the cutters, trim stop and fence, and a box of dominos for 1299.

Buying this discounted domino plus all the options totals to 1519

Great deal! Especially for how much their refurb tools go for.

Like many other tools, there is more than one way to do it. Ease of measuring and aligning pieces I've never seen a dowel jig do a good butt joint for casework. almost 0 dust.

festool is a luxury, not a necessity

Thanks for posting. These never go on sale and I've been on and off the fence for a while about getting one. I just pulled the trigger.
It is really nice. The setting up of cuts is insanely simple and the tool action is just wonderful to use over and over.

If you don't grab the actual wooden dominos at the same time, I've found that sautershop in Germany has most festool accessories ~20% cheaper than anywhere in the US.

If you've never seen a dowel jig do good butt joints for case work, look into jessem dowel jig, or dowel Max jig. Both are incredible jigs that rival the domino at a better price point. All 3 systems have their strengths and weaknesses
I have the jessem dowel jig and it doesn't even come close to a Domino. Sorry.

festool domino patent is about expired, wish cheaper clone version will be on the market soon
I've waited for that friggin patent to end for years but I can't wait any longer...also, Domino temu edition will be experiencing accuracy issues for years.

What is patented? It's a biscuit joiner with a different shape.
Yes or no. Biscuit joiner isn't providing enough holding power when it's just glued. Domino is more like a dowel version of a pack of studs while biscuit is more like one2 by 4 stud.

The main difference is the efficiency. The festool is way faster for about four times the price. If you're working in a production shop then it definitely makes sense.

But for a hobbyist, the jessem is enough (imo)

All the big names jumped in when the tracksaw patent expired. We'll be fine.

This is marked as CLEARANCE which often means an item is being replaced with a "new and improved" version. Any rumors ?

Fair. I am not going for temu edition, but I will be going for a brand name one for this. Smilie

Hmm, supposedly, the patent isn't in the USA but no one is developing it to sell in the USA? Is the patent really enforceable in the USA? If not, why have no one been developing it...

There will always be haters for luxury brands because those people just don't understand. If you're truly curious why this is such an amazing tool then my opinion is: it allows me to not care about joinery anymore. It just works. I like woodworking but what I like most of all is the finished product. Dovetails, rabbets, dados, box joints, castle joints, mortise and tenon, etc, etc. I don't care. I just want these two pieces of wood joined together and I want it done as fast as humanly possible, because time is the one resource I can't buy more of.
So if that rings true to you, get this, it's fantastic. If you like the process of cutting joinery, or you can't afford/justify this tool, then don't. But for us pros this tool is absolutely invaluable.

Couldn't help myself even though I have no real need for it. YouTube wood working has made me buy so many tools that I promise myself I'll grow into.
I have quite a few hobbies and I'm learning woodworking. YouTube woodworkers are the worst. I started an hours long cabinet making series and realized it's a Festool demo without being marked as a demo. There's another one that just keeps on pumping out product recommendations and links to buy that I can't seem to remove from my YouTube front page. Good thing I found Steve Ramsey.
