Secondipity's great, just got a pair of Sony earbuds from them a few days ago, but I'd buy through eBay in order to get the 2-year Allstate warranty.

Don't buy the xm4 earbuds. They sound fantastic, but they're almost guaranteed to have the famous xm4 battery drain issue, and they won't be warrantied.
Most likely, these are the defective ones that Sony took back when fulfilling their own warranty, then liquidated those to Secondipity.
Don't get me wrong though, literally everything else Sony I've gotten from Secondipity might as well have been new.

Bought the XM5 headphones the last time it was posted with supplier by Secondipity and came in new condition, with OEM headphone case. Just the shipping box was brown box.

WF1000-XM4 ($95) and XM5 ($120) for the WF (in ear) $25 upgrade
WH1000-XM4 ($168) and XM5 ($184) for the WH (over ear) $16 upgrade
The $168 for XM4's is for new item and the $184 for XM5 is I think refurb. I don't see new XM5's on their site at all. Unless I'm missing it?

I tried 2 of the Sony Linkbud S and both would cut in/out at my gym. After some research reading other people's experience it seems like it is common in crowded areas to get Bluetooth interference. I wanted to give them a try because someone here said the quality was nearly as good as the XM4 but cheaper at $50. So don't buy those. Other than that they were super comfortable.

I might give it a try on the XM4 or 5.

I don't and haven't owned them, but I thought I read that was fixed with a firmware update. Maybe someone who does have them can confirm.

Do the XM4 and XM5's headband break all apart like the XM3's did after a few months?

I had both and they are neck and neck in noise cancelling. Both sound great. Most likely you won't notice a difference. Bose NC and Sony NC are 2 of the top in that department.

My XM3's are still in full use today and never broke on me or even close to breaking. I flew over 50 flights last year and used it on every flight and hours before the flight. The battery is still working fine and lasts 15 hours+ on a full charge. I have the XM4 as well and they don't have an issue at all so far. I was traveling the world, so I had the XM3 with me and that is what I used. I thought I had lost the XM3 and bought the XM4, but I found the XM3 and still use that one because the ear pads are nicely broken in for my ears. I now keep the XM4 at my office to use and the XM3 in my travel bag. I would look into your head size and maybe these are too small for your head size. I found the Bose QC headband about the same width as the Sony's..

I bought the Airpod Pro Max to try out and see if it was better when it first came out. The Airpod PM sounded great, NC was really good, but it was so heavy compared to the Sony or the Bose. When you are on a 14+ hour flight, you really feel the weight of the Airpod PM and I literally had a sore neck 1/2 way through the flight. I returned it with the 30 day Apple return window.

Got some WH1000XM4 from Secondipity like 3 years ago and they are still going like new. I couldn't tell they were not new.

Took me 5 returns to get a good one. Returns were easy so that's good. All battery drain issues.
