The stainless steel variants have a sapphire crystal screen, instead of the crappier glass on the aluminum models. Sapphire is much more resistant to scratching. In 3 years with the S4 stainless and 2 years with the S8 stainless I've never managed to scratch either one. Smacked against walls, door handles, all kinds of sh*t. Case scratched up? Easy --> polish it. If you care about screen scratches (and they drive you nuts), the stainless is suuuuuuuper worth it for the sapphire screen.

I honestly haven't had many issues at all with the Milanese band that came with my stainless Apple Watch. I have really hairy arms but it's rare for them to catch on the edge of the band. This only applies to the ones made by Apple. If you get a third party no-name Milanese band from eBay or wherever, those will rip your hair out guaranteed.

Stainless steel vs Aluminum. All stainless steel have better frame, the better sapphire glass (versus regular glass) and all stainless steel models always include the cell LTE option as well.

haha, I am sporting my SS 4 series right now, just like you. Made it through the summer with it. It's a bit slow, and no oxygen sensor, but it was doable. Latest OS right now, but I read it won't get anymore updates to the new version.

No- i think you misunderstood. The stainess steel with white band is $249 showing savings of $100. Look like its either a wrong msrp or they will send a aluminium one

I was really just comparing the milanese loops but yeah the graphite is the only one with $500 savings because of a much higher msrp

The msrp for the others are wrong. They have the msrp of the aluminum ones.

Wow, nicely done! Great discipline Big Grin. Similar to what you said, not many rumors about the coming "S10". I guess we'll see if there's anything worth upgrading for. $250-$300 for an S8 stainless is pretty hard to beat though. Brutal to see, after I paid full price for it ~2 years ago. On the other hand I've had it, used it, enjoyed it, etc... I'm not sure my S4 would have held up for these past two years, especially with all of the swimming workouts I've completed in the past year. Plus the battery would likely have needed replacement at some point.

It's a wrong MSRP. The model number MNVV3LL/A is the correct model for the stainless version with white sport band.

When I arrived my order confirmation page, it showed $500 off for my $250 silver, so could be just an error on the page

I am aware of the model, but I have seen conflicting information. It appears to be ALL Apple Watches with a certain serial ending in LW/A have the feature disabled. Not just the Series 9 and Ultra 2. Apple has stated it is ALL sold past Jan 2024 are having this feature removed. From what I am reading through, it seems like older models that are new (like this one) may have been produced prior, so it is best to check the serial to double-check.

It is a bit vague, but please read this helpful post on Reddit for more info.

Yup, that's the way I remember it too. My first was the aluminum and I treated fairly gently. When I was looking into the specs though trying to figure out "why is this one $200 more than that one just for shinier metal" realized that there was more to it than that. Honestly pretty good product "stratification" for Apple to do it that way.
