no idea about this specific cooker, but in general really love our Cuckoo cooker. FWIW we had a Zojirushi for maybe a decade. Worked fine as most cookers do, but didn't realize how sloooowwwwww it was until our kids started getting bigger and we started cooking larger quantities off rice. 3 cups would take over an hour.

Our Cuckoo (more expensive model then this), is doing 4-5 cups in less than 30 mins, and results are great. Cuckoo I believe is a korean company, super reliable and built like a tank.

Also, the zojirushi pot was lined with the same sort of non-stick coating you find on pans, and over time it starts to peel off and presumably leak into the food. Cuckoo pot is just heavy steel, no weird lining/coating afaik.

I've been using this for years and paid closer to $100. It looks terribly generic asian, but works great.

i had originally chosen it because it was the cheapest model I could find actually made in Korea or Japan (best choices).

compared to a cheap Aroma, this has a much thicker/heavier nonstick bowl for cooking, and has multiple cook settings (white, brown, other) and a delayed start timer.

I have this. Works great but one complaint.. no power switch. Once rice is done, it keeps it warm but I'd rather have it shut off. Had to plug it in an outlet with a switch so I didn't have to constantly unplug it.
The bottom right button is the off button, hold it for 2 seconds.

Posts are all messed up. Red for $50.39 is 3 cup. Red for $64.79 is 6 cup.
Red 3 cup -> South Korea
Red 6 cup -> China
That other one -> China

correction: both are 3 cup. SD listing mislabels red one as 6 cup.

The Costco has a larger capacity, 5.5 cups "uncooked". This Cuckoo is only 3 cups uncooked. Some people never make more than 3, but I would buy a 5 or 5 1/2. The cuckoo does have fuzzy logic which is a plus at this price.

This one also have coating/lining. (like all Cuckoos that I know of) I found that if you wash your rice in separate bowl and put into the pot instead of washing it in the pot, the coating will last longer.
I had to replace my Cuckoo's pot after the coating went. It cost about $80 for my 10 cup version but my rice maker is $350 model so it probably is worth the cost and the original pot was about 10 years old.

my zoji is about 14 years old and has a quick cook mode. from what i can tell its exactly the same as regular. quick takes 20 min vs about 50 for regular mode.

One of the reviewers (Amazon) said the cooked rice smells plastic. Is that so?

There's a lid inside the top of the pot. It pops out. U can see it in the photo. I have the bigger version and it's the same.
Wait. Those pop off lids can be used to store the rice and keep it in its original cooking container.

Is this post 3 cup? The link list show on home depot said 3 cup, not 6 cup. Confusing here.
