I've had the Costco version of this for ~3 years now. It's been bulletproof and super dig.

Perhaps you are thinking of the AVR-S760H, the previous release of this, which had a run at Costco for $249 and $349 for a little while?

3 years ago, this wasn't on the market. This is a Sept '23 release.

The Denon S770H got rid of some legacy analog video inputs and has a newer onscreen interface. It also adds a USB port (power only) on the back to power stuff like a Roku stick or Chromecast. Nothing to merit spending $200-300 more on.

Doesn't the new one support HDMI 2.1 for 4K/120hz and VRR? I believe, but am not sure, the 760 is only HDMI 2.0

X1700H from Costco for sure over this, or when Adorama has the 970h for 350.
