That's what I do at the end of the season, but it's overkill to do it every time. My 20-year-old Honda still starts on the first pull without going through the inconvenience.

I assume inventory is low because (unless they changed their mind) Honda has decided to no longer produce and sell mowers. In late '23 Honda issued a recall on an HRN model. I don't recall if they pulled affected inventory

Shows $549 but OUT OF STOCK but it really is banned in California as of 1/1/24. I ended up buying an electric Dewalt mower for the yard and couldn't be happier.

If they're a "ship from this store" site that's possible. Some Home Depot stores are sites that they ship from, sort of like mini-warehouses, to speed up shipping time. They often have more stock than your standard Home Depot store. You can't really tell if they are without asking store employees, they usually don't look any larger than any other Home Depot stores in their area.

Very minimal inventory in the Boston area, but I found a HD location with a floor model 216VKA remaining and they offered it to me for $450 ($100 off retail).

Should I feel okay buying the floor model, or is this not worth the risk? I'm slightly afraid the floor model may not have been sent back if it was impacted by the HRN216 camshaft recall.
