Yesterday I chatted with Xfinity agent about retention pricing for my Xfinity Internet (Northern California) as my previous promo ended. I was offered moving up from 150Mbps to 300Mbps for $35 w/ autopay. Nice.

At the end of the call, I was offered "a flash sale" for adding Xfinity Mobile to my account. BYOD, No port in required.
$20 for 2 lines ($10 each line) for 12 months.
+$50 one-time setup ($25 each line)

I went back today to speak with Xfinity, here is what I was offered.

https://www.xfinity.com/learn/xfi...p-central3

Seems like a great deal that I am considering. Thoughts?

Xfinity:
2lines are normally $60/mo. We offer the second line free for 12mos when existing customers add 2 or more lines. You also receive $10/mo discount for 12mos per line when you bring over your own devices. So that is why the total bill is $20/mo.
2:30 PM

Xfinity:
$10/mo discount for 12mos, and per line when bringing own device. ($20 total discount for BYOD)
2:31 PM

Me:
Okay just so I am clear. Here is what I understand:
Service, Internet: $35 (with autopay)
Service, Mobile #1: $10 (unlimited plan, no contract, port in, includes $10 BYOD discount)
Service, Mobile #2: $10 (unlimited plan, no contract, port in, includes $10 BYOD discount)
= $55.00 (Grand total) - for 12 months.
2:32 PM

Xfinity:
Yes.
2:32 PM

Me:
After 12 months::

Service, Internet: $35 (with autopay)

Service, Mobile #1: $40 (unlimited plan, no contract)
Service, Mobile #2: $20 (unlimited plan, no contract)
= $95.00 (Grand total)
2:34 PM

Xfinity:
Yes

You forgot taxes and fees. That will be around $11 for both lines

Just about 1 year ago I have a very bad experience with an Xfinity add-Mobile deal. I had just started internet service and when I logged in to my account an offer appeared: Start Xfinity Mobile service with 1 free line for 12 months (taxes/fees extra).
I was not able to sign up for the deal online (and so I could not take screen captures of the T&Cs).

I instead had to speak with a phone representative. After receiving my SIM and activating service, I was billed $45 plus taxes. I called to object, and the new CSR said that she would fix my account with the correct offer. She failed. I cancelled the line and refused to pay $45. The ugly dispute lasted several months.

I later surmised that the first CSR wanted credit for a line signup and did not code the order correctly. The 2nd CSR was too inexperienced to correct it.

BEWARE!

I had Xfinity mobile for a about 4 years and didn't experience any of this. I switch to Us cellular and their service is more spotty. Their customer service may be a bit better but their cell service is a bit more glitchy and I have had situations when I can't call out. Xfinity mobile rock solid and provided competitive international calling rates vis a vis the big names, Verizon, AT&T and T-mobile .

I signed up recently on this exact deal, my total bill for 2 lines is about $28 with my local taxes just as FYI. Still very decent for 2 unlimited lines and haven't had any billing issues so far. Reception has been a huge jump when compared to Tmoblile in my area. Also believe Xfinity gets no deprioritized traffic and 5g ultraband. Will be sad when the year's up.

Best thing I ever did was get off of Xfinity Mobile. It worked okay at best most of the time. Found multiple areas I had plenty of signal but could never actually use data to load anything. Those areas work fine on Visible Plus and it costs less. I was supposed to get a deal like this on my last renewal but gave up arguing when they could never get the credit to show up on my bill.

By the gig has some priority but unlimited does not. Still I had a number of places I couldn't use Xfinity data but it worked on phones with other Verizon providers. So even with supposed priority it was useless.

Yeah it really depends on the area for this kind of stuff. I had T-Mobile before so I guess it seems like an upgrade to us, haha.

Agree! Xfinity CSRs are very not reliable.

for me, the port-in requirement for most promo Xfinity offered always breaks the deal
