I ordered q revo plus from roborock today. Costco return policy is good but the qrevo plus is the latest model with 7000pa . Isn't the q revo plus worth than the Costco deal?

When the 10th anniversary sale came about on the Roborock website I was really tempted. Qrevo plus model was 599 (560 with a reddit coupon) which had most of the bells and whistles of the higher end models. But when I looked at their customer support, it was abysmal. From the looks of things the warranty is practically non-existent.
Good thing about this particular deal is Costco. Personally I haven't done it, but you can supposedly return the thing even years later. Regardless of that their warranty department is top notch. So I think this is the one to go for even though this is the lesser model for the same price

Q revo plus also has a flexiarm to mop closer to edges of wall. Overall probably better model but I went with Costco QXRevo for peace of mind on returns if I run into issues

another difference I noted was that the Q revo plus has 7000Pa suction vs 5500Pa for the Costco QX Revo version. Is this a big difference?

Many experts mention after a certain level (actually 2500 or so) it does not make a big difference. There is great info on Vacuumwars.com. Highly recommended when comparing units.

My house has multiple surfaces (stone, hardwood, lots of rugs) that has wide hardwood transition pieces between rooms. Do robot vacuums handle these transitions successfully? Some of my transitions are 4 inches wide x 1/2", with beveled edges.

I paid around ~$670 last black Friday and it's worth every penny. It does require some minimal maintenance, but my floors with 4 kids + 2 dogs have never been cleaner.
How is it with pet hair? What kind of dogs and length of dog hair do you have? Thx!

Not really. You very rarely want to run it at that level of suction anyway. I run mine on the two lowest settings usually.

Yes it can handle that pretty easily. Mine managed to roll itself outside my front door once when I left it open.

Obj detection is much better on new model Q Revo Max models. I suggest sticking with new model assuming Plus is also updated vs old model in Costco.

I have older model from last year and let me tell you: Obj detection is non existing for any objects below 3 inch height.

My parents love this thing. Got it 3 months ago from Costco for $70 more. Does Costco price match at all?
I did the same thing. I called Costco since I was passed the 1 month price match adjustment (by 3 days). They told me you get a single lifetime price adjustment past the one month timeframe. They asked if I wanted to use my single lifetime price adjustment on this item and save $70 and I said yes. I have no clue if this is truly one and only time you can do that, but that's the route to go if you want to try and recoup some of that money

Are these mop vacuums safe for hardwood floors ? Also are these those vacuums which lower or raise mop pads based on whether it is hardwood or carpet?
We have Brazilian cherry wood and have had no problems. It is a very hard wood but I don't think this robot would ever damage any kind of wood floor.

Yes, it raises the pads for carpet and lowers them for hardwood and tile. It auto detects floor type for you and does the adjustments as it moves through the space. You can also tweak and adjust this manually after the fact in the app

How is it w/ mapping? My problem with other vacuums (ecovacs) is that they will redefine each space that I've drawn from time to time and then the new space simply doesn't get vacuumed because it's not in the automated scheduler.

My experience with these robo vacuum is to get the tiniest one. You don't need mop or auto clean. Get the smallest and simplest one that can access tight corners.

It has this automatic suction that empties the bin after each run and the dog hair has been so compacted that it has blocked that duct twice. It's easy to fix, once you know what's going on, but that has been a minor issue.

I let it auto-map the layout and there were no issues. I think you can define your own layout if you want but I never played around with it.

Mopping can make a huge difference if you have hard surfaces vs carpet.

So this is the same as the $400 certified refurbished unit directly from Roborock?
