Thank you. Our new place has a ring doorbell and this would make it more convenient to use.

I've been looking for a deal. Too bad this does not stack with the 20% off trade-in bonus for old devices.

Just pull the trigger with trade in of my 1st gen echo show 8. I will receive rebates for $50 after sending the old one. Practically paid $25 + taxes for the upgrade.

I have an Echo Show 8 Gen 1 too, and I can get an Amazon gift card up to $35. However, the 20% off trade-in discount does not appear at all for this product. Other Echo products show the discount on my checkout pages. How do you get a $50 rebate?

I got $35 amazon gift card and extra 20% ($15) + taxes will be deducted from my new order. Already received my GC. just waiting for the price adjustment.

No. The 20% cashback offer was in the product page when I purchased the echo show gen 3. So, everything apply automatically.

The "Save 20% off with trade-in" is a total fallacy. Amazon used to give you instant credit when you agreed to trade in a Amazon device but no longer.
In fact, after you go through this deal you see the following message:
"You will receive an instant 20% discount on your next qualifying Echo purchase. Discount displayed in checkout."
Amazon is being very misleading with this sales tactic.

The term and condition is confusing. I read the T&C similar like yours but on my trade in account it is wording differently.

Your rebate of $15.00 + applicable taxes (20% back) on order #xxxxxxx is being processed. You will receive your rebate to your original payment method within a few days.

A $35.00 gift card for your order has been applied to your Amazon account

So, I think technically 20% discount will be applied toward the new device purchase, just afterward instead of instant rebate.

I got multiple Trade-in discounts in the past, and they were all instant. This is the first time seeing a "rebate" for this type of discount. Can you let us know when you get your 20% rebate?

Mine said 20% would apply instantly but did not show in cart (tried several times). If doesn't show up by time it's delivered I'll contact support - if there's any issue I'll return because it clearly shows the 20% should be credited.

is it worth it to upgrade from a echo show 8 gen 1 to this if the main purpose is using it as a speaker and the occasional youtube or netflix video?

try to go to your amazon account under "trade-in account". You should see the offer detail in there. In my case, I can see both 20% refund and the $35 gift card offer. The 20% cashback was received after a couple days of dropping off the old device at whole food market location. the GC I received almost instantly after drop off.

For around $20 bucks is heck of a deal in my opinion to upgrade, You are stepping over 2 generation for this model. Faster processor, spatial audio, matter compatible (amazon hub) among other things available for the new model.
