For those wanting more details, the Buck 110 Hunter and Buck 112 Ranger are typically $65-$70 retail at many stores, however this model features their BOS Heat Treated S30V Steel, a considerable step up in edge retention and other attributes, making this price a slick deal.

I've owned about 5 variations of these. The 110 being a relatively large folding knife and the 112, a downsized medium-large knife. Sturdy back lock, good tolerances, slick looking brass bolster, good steel, USA Made, Great Buck Forever Warranty.

Objectively, their quality used to be better in the 2000's, but I believe they still make many good knives for the price within their USA models, these included. Hope this helps!

You should check out the 110 and 112 slim, same awesome blade, but lighter, cheaper and has a pocket clip.

I do with this knife came with a pocket clip

Edit: also remember summer of 2019 when they were selling the 112 on Amazon for $38. Picked up a few as gifts. Great knives that will last forever. Also picked up a 112 from Walmart a year or two ago for around $48, seems the same as my other.

Another edit: it was not this level of steel. Just reminiscing.

It should be noted that this is the upgraded steel, S30V. The original is made with 420hc steel, which is more inline with the prices you mentioned.

I've been carrying the 112 slim for a couple years now and I absolutely love it. It's not too big or bulky, or heavy! I like how it clips right in my pocket but I don't really know it's there. It has the thumb stud for quick deployment too! Both modern updates to a classic! The traditional Buck 110 knives are super heavy in comparison, a little too heavy and a little too wide and no belt clip. I have a couple of those but I have to wear a belt (I do anyway) and they are just too bulky for wearing in and around my work environment (technician role in a business office environment). I love them BUT it just doesn't work for me when I already have my pockets full of stuff. I've cut a decent amount of stuff with it and it just keeps performing. Today I hacked off an old power cord with 3 strands of braided 12-ga wire...one swipe on top, one swipe on the bottom...done. Yes I abuse it but this tool can working for a living!

I have a tan Buck 112 Slim...it's somewhat unassuming in an office environment and the shorter blade isn't so crazy if I need to 'dispatch' the tool to do some work. I got a killer deal on a slew of knives a few years ago, a farm store retailer was liquidating their Buck knives inventory and I picked up a dozen or so knives for $5.00 each. An absolute steal. So yes, I don't baby it...if I need another one...I got a stash to last me a life time!

S30V was an important detail that should be in the title.

The go-to steel is Magnacut. It's a relatively new steel that breaks the rules of tradeoffs between stainless, toughness, edge retention, etc. so it rates highly without sacrificing in other areas.
