They're sitting on 4 billion cash and practically debt free, so I think the credit will be fine.

That is what you would call fraud and one can only hope karma bites you in the arse one day for doing that. If that is in fact what you are doing.

if gamestop sells the series s for $150, is it basically just up to the store employee to reject you if you just constantly buy and trade in?
They're not selling the Series S for $150 - you're looking at the One S. You thought they'd give you $122 for free?

I'm clicking the reference link but I don't see the bonus $25+10%. Thinking about bringing my console in and signing up in store for pro if they offer the bonus $25+10%.

Can confirm this still works on 9/4, just got $272.50 trade credits. My Xbox series s trade in page also just shows 247.50, the $25 trade in promotion was automatically applied in store

I got a used S in Nov. '22 for $200 listed as wifi not working, but apparently the owner just didn't know what they were doing because it's always worked fine. I'm tempted to trade it for a new S 1tb... between the trade bonus it would be $30 for double the storage, black (which would blend better with all my black home theater equipment), and a fresh new unused console. My projector is 1080p native with 4K pixel-shift, but the pixel-shift increases latency making 1080p the way to go for gaming. That, and I already have a standalone UHD player, makes the X a hard sell. Seems like a win...

Confirmed I did exactly this just 2 hours ago. Also if upgrading to new X they have them $50 off as well. I also went to GCX Raise gift card exchange and got 15% off Gift Card to save even more. It's a bit of work but worth it if in the market

Depends on the use case. I have an S mounted behind the TV in our Basement Bar. You can't put an X is the constrained space that I have. Nor would I have spent more for an X. Your comment is kinda like saying that a Porsche > Mustang. Of course. Look at the price.
The S was an outdated console from launch day. My $40 Amazon fire stick could stream xbox gamepass .

Series X TIV for pro member as of today:
$357.50 credit + $25.00 = $382.50.
$250.50 cash (lowball IMO)

Finally bought one for $300 used private sale. I got tired of waiting 9 months for better deal to come back since then and it worth no more than that.

Series X > Series S all day
You assume to know what everyone values. Series S is the better console for me. Cheaper, smaller, and my 1080p TV doesn't require 4K.

I'm thinking the same. I bought my Series S "renewed" from Amazon for $200 a couple years ago. I prefer white over black, but I could go to the newest 1TB version for a small amount of money!

I wonder how they can offer more trade-in credit than what many of us spent to buy our Series S consoles over the past few years?? Maybe MSFT is subsidizing the transition to the newest consoles?

So, yeah that's exactly what it is.

Supposedly the new College Football 25 has driven up the demand for these consoles since the game does not play on Xbox One. Casuals who are only interested in that game don't want to spend a lot on a console just to play the one game.

Hey I was just speaking for myself. The Series S is a great Game Pass Machine for the $. I simply want more with the disc drive so I'll leave it as that.
