They're sitting on 4 billion cash and practically debt free, so I think the credit will be fine.

That is what you would call fraud and one can only hope karma bites you in the arse one day for doing that. If that is in fact what you are doing.

Terrible advice. If you have both an S and an X, by all means, trade in the S. But X is a good console well worth keeping.

PS5 is also great and worth keeping. Pro probably won't be worth the price of entry if indeed it winds up being $600+.
I haven't used my PS5 hardly at all this year either. I game on my PC every day. I will still get a PS5 pro regardless, I was stoked for the MS consoles but meh. I don't play them, not trying to give anyone advice, sorry if I came off that way. Just think I should stop hoarding all this junk I never use

Still valid. Traded mine in for $272, plus was able to purchase PlayStation gift cards right away (just got a PS5 and have no games) with the 5% Pro benefit for a total of $288 in value. Employee said buying gift cards was allowed as long as done before the store credit was generated.
What other gift cards are we able to get in the same transaction like that?

I'm not positive, but potentially other digital currency like Xbox, Nintendo, Steam that is eligible for the 5% discount. I only tried PS.

I like this idea, but I'm slow can you explain, like ring this cards the cards up and the trade in offsets the cost? I apologize if I'm not making sense

Xbox absolutely clears the Playstation btw the few Sony exclusives don't match a superior controller, online subscription (Game Pass >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> PSN), and overall value. More like Poopstation really

It DOES add extra time, because with the XBox, they need to log into an account to be able to see the console. They don't have a standard account to log in with, so they have to create a new account and it takes a while to set up. With other consoles, they can have a factory reset console and test it right away. They told me this both on the phone and in person. And they literally reset it for you IN THE STORE IN FRONT OF YOU after they test it, so there's nothing to trust or not trust. You can also remove the XBox from your account online on the impossibly rare occurrence that they refuse to wipe it.
I have traded in multiple Xbox consoles to different GameStops and it's never taken more than like a minute for them to check it hooks up to the internet. I don't know what the hell's wrong with the stores you're going to.

Yeah, the GameStop employee suggested it. Basically the PS gift cards offset the Xbox console trade-in in the same transaction and I chose to go up to $300 in gift cards and pay the $12 difference as I didn't want to go back to the store to spend any store credit. I'm trying to attach my receipt here, hope you can see it.

I had my original box but I don't think it's needed. Just need the console, controller, hdmi cable, and power cord. Has to power on and connect to WiFi, controller has to work.

Would gamestop take an xbox series S that doesn't power on? Obviously not expecting full value, but was wondering if it can get partial credit.
