I've always wanted a Luminox. I bought a model that is similar to the Seat Turtle for $150 from a previous deal and immediately returned it. It's a plastic toy and the reviews are horrific (see Amazon).
I was tempted again to buy this Luminox at $100 which is really a good deal. But it is not if it fogs up when you wear it in the shower (it's allegedly 100M waterproof), or fills with water in the pool, or if the hands don't align, or if the hands fall apart, or if the hands don't line up correctly, or if the tritium isn't bright, or it just dies in 1-2 years.
All of these things are reported with great frequency in the reviews for Sea Turtle watches. It is truly made from the cheapest possible components, and they stick tritium in there to call it a Luminox. A few minutes reading the reviews talked me out of a bad impulse buy.
And don't fall for "carbonox" the case is made out of plastic, there is no metal on the case. It weighs nothing and feels super cheap. It's a joke of a watch.
Can't speak for higher end models which might be better. But the fact that they peddle such crappy watches at such high prices gives me zero trust in the company and zero desire to give them my business. Even if it's $100.

I tried to look up the specific model listed here on Amazon, but they don't have it listed. They have several different Sea Turtle models, and the reviews are all 4-4.5 stars for those models, so there is a significant disconnect between what you are reporting and the review scores. If the issues you describe were so prevalent, it seems these watches would not score this well. I have had an original Navy Seal model for about 20 years, which is also made of carbonox, and it is still in excellent shape, including the original band. The tritium on the dial died after about 15 years, but I expected that. And I will never understand why anyone would wear their watch in shower, regardless of how waterproof it is. There just doesn't seem to be any purpose in it.
Always thought luminox were cool watches. Then started researching as I got into watches and very hard to justify $200+ for a quartz watch. On top of that they have terrible reviews for servicing.
As a sea turtle and other Luminox model wearer- I'm even tempted to buy a few of these. I wear my sea turtle every day since they released it. Replaced the batter 1x. I literally never take it off- no issues in shower, ocean, pool, etc. the band I had to replace 1x as well but that's just normal wear and tear. The face has taken its fair share of beatings and doesn't have a scratch on it. The case has a few nicks but the quality of these things are top notch. Weigh next to nothing. Highly recommend.

Why not? I wear my watch all day. Wash hands all day, take shower, go to gym, swim in pool, swim in lakes. I don't do diving. And what If you get caught in rain? Or go to splash pad with kids? If watch can't handle light shower it's not a watch, it's crap.

It has nothing to do with how waterproof the watch is, it's that there is no practical purpose for wearing one in the shower.
Lol I was thinking the same thing. If they are doing water things I could see a wrist worn dive computer that would certainly also have a clock. If not water adventures, it would seem like the they'd give them something a lot more durable without glass and moving parts.
Wow this company must have fallen on hard times i remember when I was a kid they used to sell like $600-2K watches, wonder if the quality has clapped since

This is a lower end model. They still have plenty of higher end watches in the price ranges you listed.
