I must have ordered over a dozen times as a "new" customer.
Use a temp/single use credit card number (Revolut)
Use the google trick for my email (randomly placed periods or spaces in addy)

That typically seems to do the trick

Wow! Great deal even if you're not a "new" customer. Does anyone know if this has the lock screen ads?

Edit: One review mentions that they dislike the ads so it probably has ads. Easy to remove and still a good price for the 64gb version.

Approximately how many times is that? Same address for each?

I have a few Amazon tabs...they are trash but this is cheap and good for a disposable streaming tablet

I would assume this comes with a newer version so not as easy as before, but the fire toolbox still somewhat works:

"cannot fully block OTAs, use custom launchers without Fire Launcher, lockscreen ads can no longer be permanantly removed, and some system apps can't be disabled."

Like someone else said, I swore off Amazon tablets because of the ads, but I'm only getting it for streaming. Thanks OP. It accepted my order as a "new customer".

Simply put, no. There's some workarounds you can do with the aforementioned Fire toolbox but it's still not great. These devices suck, frankly. I got mine for $40 from Amazon with no ads and I still don't think it's worth the price I paid.

Yeah I cancelled a $20 fire tablet from woot, seems like they're just trying to rid of all their inventory before axing the product

Fire tablets are good for children, mostly because the ads are blocked by virtue of the "Amazon Kids" dashboard they use. Of course you need to pay for that for it to be useful, but if you have a fire tablet for your kids and don't pay for that, it's a little silly. I'm talking 4-10yr olds. This just seems like the core target for these devices, even the non-kid versions (which are the same, just no warranty +ads).

For adults these are frustrating. I am not big on tablets in general, and if you are just going to use this to stream content this will do the trick for $55, but having to use this to do anything other than stream video would be a frustrating experience.

A quick chat/call to Amazon requesting them to disable the ads is easy enough to do, or you can just pay the $15 or whatever it is now.

I have owned the Fire 10 2019, 2021 and Max varietals. The Max is definitely better than this version QVC is selling, but it's also not $55.

Edit: My 9yr old still uses his Fire 10 2021 and my 6yr old uses her Fire 11 Max Plus Prime (or whatever dumb name it is) daily and neither have ever complained to me about them.

In 1980 you could get a new vinyl record for about eight bucks. If this tablet was offered for sale to someone in 1980 they would be not only amazed, they,d be like oh my God that's like seven records that's dirt cheap. Keep in mind $55 in 1980 was worth a lot more than $55 today especially with the super inflation.

I say this so verbosely to drive in how cheap this tablet is .

I mean, a cheap 10" full hd photo frame is often more expensive than this, so a no brainer here.
