That's a really good price for the ghost whisperer. Unfortunately medium is only available in orange. not a fan of that color.

I don't ever go backpacking is the ghost whisperer worth it or is there a similar model jacket that maybe weights a bit more for cheaper?

imo MH sells overpriced and cheap feeling products. Not all of their products are bad obviously, but every time I've bought from them I'm always disappointed. Lesson(s) learned for me.

I have two hooded stretch downs and they are very comfortable and have a nice fit. My research and comparisons with other jackets is these lean towards casual use. I live in a snowy climate that ranges from 20-30 degrees in the winter and my experience is they are a touch on the light side. If you're looking for something for more warmth, I'd recommend the Rab cubit down, which is almost identical in style and such. The Rab also has hydrophobic down and 2 extra ounces of down fill, so it will be much warmer. This only comes at the cost of how small it will get if you are trying to pack it.

I usually stock up on this annual sale, but nothing I really want (or need) this time around. I like the more technical and feature-driven styles, but nothing here is really crazy this time. My wife is probably happy about this, but Mountain Hardwear gear is one of my few guilty pleasures that I don't mind spending some money on. Most of the items here are actually minor tweaks on existing styles, which might be appealing to newcomers to the brand, but for the most part its the same items. Hopefully will be another 65% off sale in the coming weeks to stock up on the summer stuff!
